It's probably well known, but I've found a glitch goal. Come into the zone with a left handed shot, one on one with a defender. Around the top of the circle, pull the trigger back for a wrist shot, and fire it top shelf. Almost always a goal. This is against the CPU.

This has been a glitch goal for 4+ years, except last year it was the "curve shot", this year the curve shot doesn't work, a normal wrist shot works. My friend can do it almost every time if he wants.

Well it's all of a sudden taken the fun out of the game for me. So does the fact that my computer controlled goalie sucks complete ass. Why is it that his save percentage is 88.5 or so? Brutal. I can play good defense, and it just doesn't matter.

Someone needs to tell the EA sports people that sometimes when a team is in the offensive zone, they can win a faceoff. Seriously, when playing against the cpu, I win about 5% of faceoffs in the o-zone (and something close to 0% when on the PP) and when I play online, it's much more even. It is amazingly irritating and seriously detracts from enjoyment of the game.

I can't remember if I read about this problem in this thread, but I don't think I have. Forgive me if it's been posted.
I'm in my first season of be a GM mode, with about 10 games left in the season. I cannot play a game because it freezes on one of the preparation screens. It's also freezing on the settings menu and other areas in this be a GM.
Anyone else have this problem? Are there any solutions? This is brutal! How can I avoid this if a I start a new be a GM? It's terrible having played all these games and then just losing it because it's freezing.

This is why online is the way to go... I almost always play online unless it's with other people offline.
I just find it so much more rewarding beating another guy than a computer. That's just me.

It's a glitch. Look at games played and compare it to wins and losses total bthey are probably different. An that is because nhl10 has a stupid glitch where it doesn't track the goalie stats properly. Truly annoying.

It took me a long time of fiddling with the sliders before I found a good balance. I had issues with faceoffs and crappy goalies as well. Through adjustments I've found that most games are competative.

I wasn't aware of that, but my goalie truly sucks.

Is there music pack anywhere for NHL 10? I'm still rocking the 09 package that was posted here, but was curious to see if there was anything else out there?

Do you think it would be possible to have user created teams and players in online games? I find it awesome to see myself streaking down the wing and popping one past the goalie... It could add a whole new dimension to online play.
It would calculate your overall (OFF, DEF, GOA) and then match it with someone else's overall that is similar and branch outwards, much like it does already.
For someone like me, I find it sometimes boring using one team's roster and playing according to the online rosters, but is there a way to change online play so common rosters would not be needed?
Comments?

does anyone else notice an error in online leagues with Jersey numbers? so frustrating to see 12 on Jokinen and Iginla, 14 on Bourque, 20 on Sjostrom and Glencross, 9 on Dawes, 2 on Pardy, 7 on Giordano

Lol, yep...my team has the same issue (Jokinen and Iginla are both 12) I traded Bourque for Justin Williams....it was offered to me! Williams then scored 3 goals against the team that just traded him, lol.

I found something to complain about. Just won the cup ... THAT'S the cup celebration they said they improved!? There's only one different thing from last year and it makes absolutely no sense at all. It isn't so much that it's lame, it's that they actually advertised that it was awesome. Joborule is going to have to relay my disgust!

Question
I just started playing the GM mode, I had just played the season mode, anyway, here's the question...
about 10-15 games in, I have Irving 1 and Shantz 2 in ABB and Kipper 1 and Fernandez 2 in CGY, that leaves McE(CGY) and Keetley(ABB) scratched, I want to sign Shantz as he is still a free agent however I cannot due to number of players on roster
Can I release McE and Keets? buy out contracts? what can I do here before Shantz signs elsewhere?

My biggest complaint in the game is how the CPU stops way before the blue line and the puck just kind of goes in for an icing. It's extremely annoying. Or when I make the pass infront of the net, either it goes right into the goalie or the player I'm passing to just stops and it goes right infront of him.
