As a student at University of Idaho (right now we have the worst team in Div 1-A, by a lot), I have to laugh that the coach that ran our program into the ground, Tom Cable, has somehow managed to become a head coach in the NFL. Especially since this is right after Scott Linehan (former Idaho player and coach) was fired from the Rams. Very weird.
When asked about his decision to punt on 4th-and-13 late in Sunday’s game, Childress said, “Based on the way we were playing defense, I thought we’d have a chance to get it back.”
What a dumbass! You had no timeouts left, all they had to do was take a knee on 3 consecutive plays.
Can anyone spare a real head coach??
Read about that in TMQ. What was he thinking? Why are you punting on a fourth down with any distance to go - anywhere on the field - when you are down by two touchdowns in the fourth quarter - and this was LATE in the fourth quarter.
Wasnt that like $100,000 or something. Big differance between that and $3.5 Million. I heard Al Michaels on Monday Night Football one time say that Al told Shanahan that if he wanted his $100,000 it would cost him a million.
Yeah, I'm not sure how much it is.
It just shows that Davis has a history of this.

Also there were revelations he had fathered nine children by nine women, a fact that came out in a child support case in Georgia.
Hilarious.
Shanahan couldn't get rid of that clown fast enough this summer, now I guess we know why.
One of Shanahan's biggest mistakes, no question.

Did anyone watch the press conference in which Al Davis announced he had fired Kiffin?
Say what you will about the man controlling everything...it's all true, but I can't see him giving a 30 minute speech on what led up to the move and it being a lie designed to save face. It sounds to me like Kiffin has real issues with honesty and integrity and an inability to deal with adversity. Here's a link to the presser...(3 links actually)

I think it had more to do with trying to save money than face.
Although Kiffin has not acted like a saint in the matter I don't think he is 1/10th as bad a person as Davis tries to make him out to be in that Press Conference.
The situation was 1,000,000,000% Davis' fault and if anyone is a liar in this whole deal it was Skeletor himself.

Al Davis is a nut job. I hope he lives forever. Maybe there is a little truth in what Al had to say about Kiffen. But he is the one who hired a young, unproven coach. There is going to be a learning curve with some one who is young and inexperienced. If Al wants to hire such individual's as head coaches. He is going to need to show a lot more patience. By having a coaching carasel, the Raiders will be a laughing stock untill they actually have some stability and a system to build around.

X2.
Just a bad owner, bad person and now a bad football mind. Warren Sapp had some great quotes today.
He said in his first game someone came up to him and said watch we are going deep this play, when Warren asked how he knew he said "cause the phone just rang".
In the last 5 years there have been tons of players, tons of coaches and one owner.
Colts up 10-0 on the Texans in the 1st after a Addai 1 yard TD. It's the lowly Texans, but hey we need all the wins we can get right now. Also hoping that Baltimore and Pittsburgh can come out with wins today to help us out!
EDIT: Texans now driving the field.......and get a 1 yard TD. 10-7 Colts now.

Dolphins have already used the wildcat formation a bunch of times on their first drive.
Go Dolphins!
May Dan Carpenter win it with a 57 yard FG as time expires!

Good grief are the Packers ever out of sorts on both sides of the ball....beyond a miraculous grab by Driver, the falcons are kicking ass all over the field and especially in the trenches. GB REALLY misses Jenkins and his d line play.
