This is nothing more than gamesmanship of Conroy’s behalf. LA would clearly not be one of the 6 teams on Andersson’s list. He is not giving Vegas permission to talk long term deal until they come back with an offer that fits what he is looking for. It’s the only card Conroy has left.

Don't forget that LA is part of what is considered a "whacko" state and lots of celebs have GTFO as the politics within California are terrible. I'd wager that plays a big role.

I have no idea what to believe here from Conroy, and I kinda like that. All these teams (vegas) playing games and cheating the system - if this is strategy for getting a deal done then go for it Conroy. I do hope it's just posturing about bringing Ras back for training camp though, what a s*** show that would be for everyone when the reporters show up day-1. Feels to me like this deal gets done soon.

I'm not sure what is short term thinking here. I think Zary is overrated on here. He is not the most durable guy and he is a 2nd pairing winger. I don't see anything more than a ceiling of a 50-60 point winger.

Zary is not a guy you build a team around. A complimentary player. Skilled, doesn't complain, but not unmoveable.

I agree he's overrated, but calling him not durable isn't fair. The injuries he suffered this season were freak accidents that would injure just about anybody.

The counter-argument is we don’t know what he is yet because he’s been set back by injuries, and who knows how durable he is? Backlund’s career started out much the same way, but he ended up being extremely durable.
