I did say if they traded Kadri and other vets, I would not complain about management the rest of the year. They went above and beyond that with Weegar.
And both returns were great. It shows me ownership has committed to building a winner. I honestly did not expect us to make these moves, I am thrilled.
I have already bought a new Gridin jersey in support and will be buying tickets to more games.

Just making the Canadian world junior team at 18 when you're not some star prospect is impressive. Sure you didn't like his 5on5 game but he was a huge long shot to make it. Really excited to see him make the team this year, would imagine he'll have a leadership role as well

Kindle also went 11th overall so doesn’t really matter. Prospects are most likely going to bust or underperform fam expectations. I’m along for the hype train until that happens.

I have only been able to watch 2 of his ND games and was only impressed with 1 of his games and he didn’t get a point in that game. I have a good friend who scouts for a team in the central and he swears his ceiling is a 3rd line center or 2nd line winger, says he gets pushed off the puck too often, doesn’t think he has the core strength to excel at centre in the NHL. Hope I’m wrong but I am not super excited that he is a top 6 center like many are suggesting. He must be playing well to garner these honours so hopefully I’ve just seen him in some less than normal performances. This outlines just how tough it is to jump from junior to NCAA for an 18 year old, males what Wyttenbach has done even more impressive given where he was drafted. Hit the weights Cole and get some tree trunk legs like Crosby and Point!!

Tbh, a 3rd line C or 2nd line winger with the 18OA selection is not bad. You're hoping to find a regular middle of the lineup player in that range. Whether that's Reschny's ceiling or floor remains to be seen, but obviously he's made the transition to the NCAA very well so far.

That’s a huge win, a very responsible 2 way center good in the dot and able to play 3rd line center is a great asset, maybe at worst he is our long term Backlund replacement. He seems to be garnering some attention from good hockey minds so maybe our 2nd line center stud?!?! Maybe the NCAA route proves very valuable for him and he builds strength, TBH he really doesn’t need to be in Calgary for 2 or 3 years it’s gonna be tough here.

Yes - another year in NCAA is the right path. Hopefully he plays a larger role at WJC next year and as you say, definitely need to see more strength and power both with the skating and down low puck battles. I am still quite optimistic he is a legit 2C if everything comes together.

Think any Tij doubters were put to bed during world juniors.
