An investigative deep dive into how many times this has happened with prominent figures would be quite the watch. From priests to celebrities to politicians - anyone with a soapbox who "tackles the issues" of perceived depravity ends up being a ####ing sicko.

IOC edges closer to ban on transgender women in female Olympic events

The International Olympic Committee is edging closer towards implementing a ban on transgender women competing in the female category in time for the Los Angeles Olympic Games.

Multiple sources expect such a ban to come into effect over the next six to 12 months with the new IOC president, Kirsty Coventry, making clear she wants to drive through her campaign pledge to protect the female category…

… Speculation that the IOC would introduce a new policy as soon as January intensified on Monday after it was reported that its director of health, medicine and science, Dr Jane Thornton, had given a science-based review of the evidence to its members last week, showing there were permanent physical advantages to being born male.

It is a bit fascinating how all these people just can't help but celebrate humans being told how to live, what they can and can't do, what they can call themselves, what healthcare they can access...people who they have zero connection to and have no affect on their lives. It's just something a rational person can't really grasp. But then you remember most of them were raised in churches where they were taught to follow all sorts of irrational rules just because. They only know that someone has said "this bad" and they grab the torch and run with it. They had to follow all sorts of nonsense to be the person they are, so others should too. It's really all they know. And because ultimately religion is and us vs them club, the only stance to take is one of war.


It makes psychological sense for this to be the outcome, but, uhm, maybe we could stop indoctrinating kids at some point, so they don't grow up to be bigoted hateful #######s? I dunno, just spitballing here.

But yes, let the tiniest subset of a population who literally just want to mind their own business absolutely enrage you. No transgender person will ever want to participate in a sport, let alone the Olympics, but be mad at the possibility anyways.
