After getting lit up by supporters walking off the pitch at half time you'd think Cavalry would have come out a little more inspired in the second half but they were saved by a penalty call.
A point I guess but really underwhelming stuff this year so far. The vibe at today's game was off for sure, even before the crap at the end of the first half.
We looked good for the first 44 minutes. We were moving the ball better and creating more than we had all year, but it just fell apart from there. The second half was back to boring and no ideas.
Tommy gave a death stare to one fan in particular who was chewing him out at half time.

Watching the highlights after the game, HFX should feel extremely hard done by. Not even remotely a penalty.

We definitely had some joy on the wings in the first half. That's really this team's strength; when Musse and Cantave are on, their link play with Escalante/Alarcon is how we are going to generate chances.
I thought Camargo started brightly but as the match went on, he struggled to get and keep the ball. I'm really hoping Daley will become that box-to-box driving midfielder we need but I haven't seen many signs of it yet.
This team's lack of a consistent #10 has been discussed here ad nauseam but it really is the biggest issue in this team. Once Wanderers went into those two banks of defenders in the second half, we had virtually zero decent possession in the final third. That penalty came out of nowhere and rescued a point.
The other issue is our lack of depth on the bench. Beckford struck a nice free kick at the end and Ntignee has had his moments this season but overall there's not much to provide a spark and stretch teams in those final 20-30 minutes.
Finally, though I've hardly seen him play, I think the loss of Callum Montgomery has had a huge impact. Klomp is a good ball playing CB but he's not a marshall back there. It goes without saying but given our style of play, we are going to need to keep clean sheets to win games. We definitely miss a strong, physical CB like we had in Yao.
Anyway, next Sunday at home to Ottawa will be very interesting. It's two home games now without a win.
Did something happen with Security? I tried to be smart and grabbed a bite to eat at the 43rd minute but then when I came I saw a few security guards that were chatting with Craig and it looked like they left a security guy there for the rest of the night.

Honestly, I have no idea what happened. Might have been in response to that beer that was thrown on the pitch last game from 201? Didn't notice security at all in the first half and then Craig spent 45 minutes reaming them out asking why there was security in our section. Then naturally more security come up because it's starting to get a bit heated.
I think there is a new security contractor for the games so it's frustrating having to rebuild things over from scratch a third time in 5 years. Feels like things are going a bit backwards in terms of the club / supporters relationship.

Well, Cavalry have a job opening for Goalkeeper Coach on their website. I've heard Jordan's been staying on past his resignation date in order to not leave Marco stranded, and that they're having trouble filling the role....
You can't help but smile that this many former Cavs are being listed. Personally I think that's a win in and of itself. Perhaps one day when Tommy moves on from the Cavs he'll have a spot with international team scouting and/or player development.

Looks pretty good out so I'd guess the game against Ottawa will go on today. Win moves Cavalry to 3rd. Loss or draw keeps them in 7th. Hoping Cavalry show up for this one against a team that has always had their number.
Have heard Montgomery, Shome, Fisk, Mason and Beckford are all out for this one.
Think Ottawa are going to struggle this year. Same strategy as last year to sit back and absorb but they just didn't counter today. Offered nothing in attack.
Supporters section was bumping today. 25 first timers drunk on a long weekend from the pub help.

Yep a good day today. Nice weather, decent atmosphere and Cavalry playing much better than they have recently.
