Nothing is going to happen tonight. Not a resignation, not an invocation of the 25th amendment, not an impeachment.

Maybe tomorrow, but not tonight.

And if it doesn’t happen tomorrow, it likely will never happen.

I have chosen to never talk to one of my cousins again. Maybe even 3 of them. I'll likely never make any family reunions with my family anymore to just outright avoid those three. It infuriates me the conspiracies and lies that they believe and spread about as absolute truth.

Yes, this is true, you and I wouldnt have the vote if it wasnt for good riots, the Civil War in Britain, 1776 in what became the US, 1965 equal rights act was stalled in congress by the GOP (huge surprise eh!!) until riots in Detroit and LA forced Congress to reassess, no voting right or workers rights have ever been secured without riots, I would like it if we lived in a world where Kings and Lords gave up their power without being forced by riot and unrest but we dont, there are riots that are good, that come from a noble cause and effect change for the good even if the process is bloody and unfair.

If the unrest of the last couple of years leads to black men not being shot out of hand by the police then they will be good riots, a few burnt 7/11's and a Wendy's is a small price to pay for that, I grant you it probably wont but it might.

Well, we obviously agree on the use of violence against innocents to attain political goals.

What I find strange is that people think that they will be the only ones to use such tools.

There has to be a reason why they were so susceptible to believing the misinformation though. People don't latch on to that because they're just inherently awful. There has to be a reason why they find what these people are saying to be so emotionally compelling, because let's face it, this is driven by anger and a sense of oppression moreso than by intellect.

So what in their upbringing impressed such beliefs in them about the world/others that would eventually lead them down this path? Because people only understand the world from their level of perception, and their influences may differ greatly from ours.

It's worth considering I think before shutting out family forever. Divisiveness and lack of compassion in a lot of ways is what landed us here in the first place. Should we not at least attempt to take a higher road, because we know better?

(And I say this about pro-trump peers/family that are on that side ideologically, but not on board with the violence today.)

Call me weird but I think there is a moral difference between violence to try and prevent democracy and violence to try and stop people being gunned down in cold blood, I also think there is a difference between punching someone out as you try to steal his car and punching someone out because you are trying to stop someone from stealing your car.

It will never happen (well, I really highly doubt it) but the fact they're even bringing up the 25th just shows you where we are today, what a complete disaster a mentally unwell Trump is for that country.

This was terrorism. You need to arrest people on the spot, not open the door for them and let them leave on their terms and worry about it later. That's very dangerous, and frankly, just completely messed up.
America was founded by terrorism against the British Crown.

I am sure it was not a Tea Party to the British either.
