there's rumours that Giannis might actually play tonight. Woj says he's a game-time decision.
I'd be shocked if he's not playing. I think it could be a Suns advantage if he does. No way he's near 100% and the Bucks have been rolling without him with Lopez killing it
Doesn't make any sense to play him, might as well gauge how you are without him. If you win then you can wait to bring him back Sunday for game three, if you lose you can see if you either desperately need him, or only kinda need him, which can help dictate load management.

Yeah, especially with the Suns having home-court, I think its in the Bucks' best interests to be patient. If the Bucks had home court, I'd say that they'd need to do everything possible to avoid dropping the first 2. But dropping the first 2 without Giannis, then coming back home and inserting him into the lineup isn't an awful place to be. And if they can manage to steal a game in Phoenix without Giannis, and then bring him back closer to 100% for game 3, they've got the clear upper hand.
Wow. Apparently Rachel Nicholls got pulled from TV for being upset that she was replaced in a hosting role by a black colleague. I didn't think her comments were too terrible (frankly they were probably accurate) but that's a bit of a bad look for everyone involved.

Yeah - it's a back and forth argument on who's right and wrong. I thought she was very fair in her behind the scenes conversation. I understand her point completely. I'm sure most people have had way worse conversations about colleagues in private. This was actually right. ESPN is off the mark and speaks of classic management BS. I don't know why her colleague is so pissed at her though. Plus it's a leaked conversation - how are they not getting chastised for that leak?
Completely besides the point though, I wish they'd get rid of all these sideline "reporters". Seems like they're all fine at their job, but it adds nothing to the viewer experience, for any sport. The comedy routine with Chuck and Crew though is priceless - those guys should be on longer.

Even if you think what she said was not accurate, it’s hard to fault someone who in their mind was passed over for an opportunity for expressing their frustration in a private conversation. Anyone who has ever missed out on a promotion has felt slighted in some way.
Maybe she didn’t want to do it anymore either and being the object of that attention.

The whole Rachel Nichols/Maria Taylor drama mostly serves as a reminder of how horrible ESPN's panel coverage is. It's amazing that TNT, with significantly less financial muscle, can put out a substantially better product.

By all accounts Taylor is pretty entitled. She's demanding that ESPN pay her like she's Stephen A. Smith. I think she's pretty replaceable (though granted most people on ESPN are).

According to her, it's not a matter of being passed over - they flew her down to the bubble in the middle of a pandemic and then told her they weren't giving her a position they agreed to in her contract.
I'm kinda team Rachel on this one.

I posted this early in the Habs-Lightning thread. The link does have some NBA stuff from 1993. Funny coincidence that both the Suns and Habs last appearances in their respective championship series was in 1993.

Thought this series was gonna be even at this point, but the Suns are definitely running away with it now. Also doesn’t help that Middleton and Jrue are inconsistent as hell.
have to feel for Giannis a bit. Incredible that he's able to get 42+12 in his second game back already, too bad his supporting cast is letting him down. Holiday and Middleton have to be better, otherwise this one will be over quickly.
