I don't think anyone is defending GG overall...just saying its not all on him
this game or the season
I keep hearing how the Flames have had Vezina goal tending...certainly not at home they haven't.

Just want to point out the obvious in case anyone is getting all excited. Flames won't pay anyone over $6.75M that Gio makes. No Kane this off season.

You'd rather have given a package that probably would have included Jankowski or Mangiapane and our 2019 first for a month of Evander Kane in a season where we're just playing out the string as we wait for a coach who has managed out-underperform Brent Sutter to be on the out?

I feel like really they gave up at 3-3.
They looked good until the 3-3 goal. Right after that they botched the PPs, the the 4-3 goal and they had clearly quit at that point

He would have been a good assistant coach, behind an experienced motivator.
Coaches that know how to win will not risk experimenting, or results that are not working.

Yeah I’m probably tabbed as a “defender” but my point has mostly been that it’s not all bad and not all on him.
Mostly I defend the system because the X and O are fine - this teams system tends to generate chances 5v5.
But special teams are brutal, he’s not a very good motivator, and he’s hasn’t been able to get a grasp on the mental collapses.
Overall I don’t think he’s the only problem this team has but it’s also pretty clear he’s probably not the solution.
