Well, the team has lots of good young talent. Hamilton is an elite young defenseman. Gaudreau, Monahan, Tkachuk are all great young forwards. Bennett is also looking good when played at LW.

Now that the season is pretty much over, it’ll be interesting to see what the Flames do in the off-season. I think it is extremely disappointing to see this team effectively eliminated. That is a playoff quality roster in my opinion and the underlying numbers certainly support me. I think the Flames need to prioritize goal scorers in the offseason. It’s one thing to generate a ton of HDSC as they did, but you can definitely build a roster capable of finishing and the Flames don’t seem to have it.

I think Treliving knew that and that’s why he said goal scoring would be the biggest issue.
