I'm excited to see Tkachuk, Ferland and Engellend respond. I also look forward to Staal getting a chop to the wrist and missing out on a month of game time.

Sadly, none of this will happen.

I am sure the NHL has probably sent a memo to each of the teams and are probably going to tell the refs to put a lid on this early. Minny did blink first by calling up a goon. Although I do have to admit I thought he would be more experienced, only 23 years old.

#mnwild has recalled Kurtis Gabriel. Sign it may be expecting a chippy game tomorrow after Johnny Gaudreau's injury last meeting
Kurtis Gabriel is basically known for one thing and that is fighting. Wild are expecting Flames to be looking for revenge tomorrow.
If that actually occurs, I have my doubts.
So they're gonna bring in a young goon to stand up for their players that hacked our star out of the lineup rather than Staal and co. facing the music themselves.
I hope the Ferland - Hathaway - Hamilton group shows what it means to get revenge hard, clean, and relentlessly. I don't want to see our boys in the penalty box all game. I just want to see punishment. That can be executed within the rules of the game.
With the way the officiating has gone this year, you can pretty much guarantee that the Flames will be in the box all night against Minny. If a flame so much as breaths or looks at Staal, they will get a penalty. At the end of the night, the discussion won't be about retribution, it will be about another loss by the Flames due to biased officiating.

Kurtis Gabriel fought Hunter Smith last season (March 18). Anyone remember that fight? There is no video on HockeyFights for that one, and no votes.
FWIW, Anthony Peluso beat him up last year. I am not sure what the big names in terms of fighters in the AHL are, but he hasn't fought anyone I recognize from the NHL that is considered a goon. All this means is that (unfortunately) Engelland has to spend 5 minutes in the box for re-arranging this kid's face. Might as well call Bollig up, as I would much rather have him sitting those 5 minutes.
At any rate, I don't think it means much. Engelland is here so I doubt this kid will intimidate much.
Hope the Flames don't do anything cheap or have some 'blatant' intent to injure crap. I just want them to target Staal and Suter (who are the 1st and 3rd leading scorers for the Wild respectively) with clean but HARD hits every chance they get. Finish each check. Just target those two. Make a statement to the Wild - and the rest of the league - that if a team wants to target the Flames' best players, the Flames will do likewise.
I hope they do it clean and don't take a penalty doing so. Just hard but clean hits all game long targeting those two players.
Should be a fun game to watch (and how often do we get to say that about a Wild game?).

I don't recognize many of the names he has fought. Cody Bass is familar, Cody Beach and Ryan Hartman too. Bass is the only one I recognize as a fighter but he's more of a middleweight. The fact he fought Hartman tells me he's willing to go with pretty much anyone whether they are a tough guy or not.
I also found this video online, a compilation of his fights and he doesn't look all that impressive to me because if someone did a compilation of his fights they are likely a fan so they would have left out the losses and even in these fights only one or two IMO are decisive wins.
^ whoever edited that video should punch themselves in the face. Really makes a guy appreciate how lucky we are to have someone like AC that produces truly amazing videos.

So in short, how they should play every game?
