You know if you went to HF Forums, you'd probably have a lot more friends. That place is riddled with dudes like you who don't care to think the game in more than one dimension.

Haha
Should the Leafs target Hamilton (part deux)?

Also, considering Calgary needs help up front, I think JVR and/or Bozak would be very intriguing to shore up the depth at each of those positions.

If you are starting with Marner and Nylander, there is something to talk about.

Really?
a 31 year old soft as poop often injured center, yeah because we don't have enough centers.
OR lets sweeten the pot and toss in a one season from UFA soft complimentary winger, Not only that but a one season from UFA soft complimentary LEFT winger, you know a position of some strength on this team.
Come on man, now that's just insulting.
If a team wants Hamilton its going to cost them a ton, that 1st and 2 seconds deal. We live in a different reality now.
The price would absolutely start with Marner and because I'm so insulted by that column, we want your first too you pancake eating Mamma Jammas (edited for the verbally sensitive.

Wow. So Toronto would get a player that would instantly become their franchise defenseman (Hamilton is better then Rielly) for a couple of tier 2 forwards? Any deal for Hamilton would have to start with Marner +. Even at that Marner in/Hamilton out makes the Flames a worse team.

He first said a couple 1st's. But it would actually start with Marner or Nylander. But it won't happen.

The comments are even more hilariously one-sided. "A package of Brown+Bozak+2nd might have to go the other way."
Several comments about how Burke owes them for this and that so he should make the trade, as though he's the one calling the shots. Leafs fans as a bunch really are clueless about anything going on outside of Toronto.

The 1st round picks don't make sense because of Hamilton's age and the fact that the odds of getting a better defenseman with mid/late 1st round picks are low. I don't think it would start with Nylander. You aren't going to get a defenseman of the caliber of Hamilton for a winger.

I'm a HUGE Marner fan, but even if he was in the return, as soon as you trade Dougie, you're creating a massive hole and will be searching for a Dougie replacement.

Dougie could absolutely be the most untouchable player on the Flames right now.

Boy, the article (and some of the comments to it) are so uninformed. Like the author thinking Calgary would like to play Stone as a top 4. Or saying that a left side with Gio, Brodie, and then a choice of Kulak/Kylington/Wotherspoon is weak. Or saying that, because Calgary is strong on the right and not so much on the left, they should deplete the right more (thus making a weaker second pair and a much weaker bottom pairing). Or saying Calgary needs help up front (true) but then suggesting a 3C and a 3LW (false).
Like a commenter getting Brodie's shooting and former side backwards. Or thinking Burke would be doing the trade. Like revisiting the "difficult to get along with" fallacy.
Bad, bad article.

Help, save, whatever.
|
Why would the Flames want to trade Hamilton?
Why would the Leafs want to trade any of the Big 3?
Neither fanbase wants to see any of those guys go.
