I didn't think anyone could make me think Gibbons was smart, but Maddon just accomplished that.

The wet dirt slowed that down and saved that from a single. If that hit the wet grass it would've been a hit...or even dry dirt.

Its like Joe Maddon is trying to give Cubs fans a reason to like Steve Bartman.

I wish Harry Doyle was calling this game.

They need to cut to backstage cameras like in WWE...he is likely tossing random stadium staff and MLB officials through tables right now

Now they're left with Chapman coming back? Such a gamble.

The worst part for the Cubs is that was a big mistake by Shaw - a cutter right in the middle of the plate. Would've been an easy pitch for Baez to put in play and definitely high enough to get under it.

Chapman again? Look what happened to Miller.
Madden has no confidence in any one else in the bullpen, there is no doubt.

Chapman looks like garbage.

Why is he in there?

I don't watch a ton of baseball and I'm watching on mute.
Why was that bunt attempt counted as an out and not a foul?

2 strikes...a foul bunt with 2 strikes is an out

If you attempt a bunt with two strikes, a foul ball is strike three.

A foul ball on a 2 strike bunt is an out. Probably in the old timey days, guys would try to bunt over and over and kept fouling off, so they made that rule.

Bunting a foul on a 3rd strike is an out. That's why batter's don't usually bunt with 2 strikes.

I could not imagine being a hardcore fan of either of these teams right now.

With the history both teams have ... just pain

The risk of having managers that manage more actively is that sometimes they over-manage.
Of course Gibby would rarely be accused of that.

Wow, I thought that was gone. I'm stressed and I'm not even a fan of these teams.
