I agree with Zaun, that Tulo ejection was ridiculous. He was looking for a reason to toss him. How does an ump toss a guy who's talking to his teammates at short? Just silly.
The challenging end to the game is actually a good thing. It'll keep them on their toes tomorrow so that way they know that they have to play well in all nine innings.

Yeah, other then the waste of Osuna as far as the Royals getting to see some of his pitches for later on in the series, good to see it not be over as quick and keep them focused for tomorrow, and identify some bullpen issues.
I don't think Lowe or Sanchez should've been lifted early, nor Hendriks for that matter given the lead. Gibby getting too trigger happy, after arguably (though it worked out) not taking Stroman out an inning or so earlier than he did.
Smoak won't see the field again.
Won't have the crew chief to worry about playing "Ump show", at least behind the plate again this series.
No way the Royals can use Cueto again IMO, but they may have to if it goes 7. He got some early pitches go his way, but then didn't get them an inning later, and the Jays teed off when he started going inside. Maybe in a bigger ball park he gets away with some of that, but tough call to have confidence in him again, but it is Yost so who knows.
Tomorrow's the big one...Jays can tie it up, I like them winning 2 of 3. They go down tomorrow, even though I can see them winning in Toronto Wed., it may be by pulling out all the stops in doing so, leaving having to win Game 6/7 with a depleted pitching staff on the road.
Dickey - Gm 4
Estrada - 5
Price - 6
Stroman -7
?
Or do you go with Price in Game 5 with the energy at home on shorter rest and put Estrada in the bigger ball park in KC (no matter how Game 4 goes) for Game 6?

Pivotal game 4. Either the Jays tie the series and gain all the momentum, or KC takes a commanding 3-1 lead. Seems fitting that Dickey gets the ball.
If the Jays lose I think you see Price start Game 5. If the Jays win, go back to Estrada.
All the Jays need from Dickey is a decent start today and the Jays are in really good shape.
Chris Young is an extreme fly ball pitcher - high fly ball percentage in the league. Obviously, he's homer prone as well. This is basically the worst possible match-up versus the Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre. The key is to just get baserunners on and make sure those homers aren't solo shots. Young has a pretty poor walk rate so hopefully the Jays can maintain a patient approach and make him pay for any mistakes.

I know a lot of people are complaining about the American tilt of the broadcast crew, but I must say Joe Buck calls a fantastic play by play. That Tulo home run call gave me chills.

On paper it's lopsided, but when he pitched against the Jays last year (in Safeco, mind you) he looked flat out dominant against a lot of the Jays hitters.
It will not be a walk in the park against Young, despite the average stuff. He changes speeds, much like Estrada, and the Jays will need to have a very patient approach to him today to have any success.

Johnny Cueto believes he saw someone in CF last night potentially stealing signs according to Edinson Volquez. The man in white lives!

Way to take responsibility for one of the worst starts in the playoff history, Cueto. The "man in white" didn't seem to effect the rest of the pitchers for the Royals last night.

According to Fangraphs, here are the Jays starting hitters that game:
M Cabrera
J Bautista
J Francisco
M Kawasaki
J Reyes
D Valencia
C Rasmus
A Lind
D Navarro
So, one active Blue Jay in Bautista. Missing are flyball/HR hitters like EE, Donaldson, Tulo, and Martin. And, like you said, they were playing cavernous Safeco and not the Rogers Centre. I wouldn't be nearly so confident against Young if the Jays were playing in KC.

Good lord...I had nearly forgotten about Juan Francisco.
Ok, you have me convinced. Jays are gonna slug it out today...can't wait!

Good. The legend continues and appears the Royals are treating it like it's a real thing. Watching Cueto and Perez yesterday, they were completely thrown off trying to 'defend' against this. Hope it continues today.
