It is possible to dig your foot in on contact in a kick. Soccer players do it all the time. Hence, snow.

And he was on outside edge on both skates, which is why he turned out.

When players try to stop from high speed, they usually use both skates (unless they want to get injured). He clearly planted this right skate to try and direct the puck in. If he was trying to stop, his left skate wouldn't have been pointing directly towards his line of skating... it would have been digging into the ice and therefore parallel to his right skate, not perpendicular to it.

Is Strombo drunk right now?

He was growing on me, but his teenage ways are getting annoying.

I didn't see in the rule where it spoke about intent. Just where it said "Motion".

There was a clear kicking motion, if there is something in the rules about intent, please post it.

Otherwise, it's hard to argue there wasn't a kicking motion.

Honestly, the most frustrating part of the "kicked in or not" calls is how ambiguous the rulebook is. You can never be confident about a review in today's NHL.

Why is Johnny dumping and chasing? That's not his game.

Joe Colborne looks so young in that interview that I was expecting his voice to crack.

I agree with you, unfortunately, the league does not. They changed the standard of enforcement on kicked-in goals this year, essentially to allow those types of plays to count as good goals.

There are a lot of plays that are against the strict letter of the rule book but are only called based on a specific standard of enforcement (which the league keeps changing depending on the whims of the GMs).

At no point did they ever get even remotely close to a scoring position
