It isn't time, per se, as Cl B are typically longer contracts with many being 3-year contracts. The difference is pay primarily.
A Cl B corporal, for example, earns 85% of the Reg Force Cpl's salary.
Cl C is typically given to a reservist on an operational task (eg, Afghanistan, UN deployment, or even a domestic op like the Calgary floods). The Cl C reservist is entitled to the same pay and benefits as the Reg Force soldier.
Many Army units will have significant anniversaries over the next few years. Thus, many of these Units are being rewarded with sending some of their deserving soldiers to Ottawa to serve as sentries at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
It will be an even more emotional Remembrance Day for the A&S H of Canada this year sadly.
