This is completely irrelevant. The Flames are rebuilding - what does it matter who their highest paid players are?

I kind of like this, both as a Flames fan...and it makes some sort of sense for the Canucks. Sort of. They sign Miller, and more UFA(s) are on their way there and/or trades are coming. You have to give him credit, Benning is not wasting any time.

Miller still has the ability to be a very good starter in the league -- he's certainly an upgrade on what Vancouver has now. He's just not a big game goalie.

I hope Cammy signs elsewhere. When he tries he is decent top forward but too much of a defensive liability. He reminds me very much of an Ovechkin type player and you don't win championships with those.

Cammy should take 8 mil for one season and get traded to a contender at the deadline. Gets him his money, Flames will get an asset and Cammy will be able to gauge who is legitemetly a contender closer to the end of season. I know, ideal world but you would think this scenario would be hard to turn down.

There is no guarantee you can flip him for an asset but it would help the Flames reach the Cap which at the moment might be hard for them to accomplish unless they trade or overpay.
