Interesting. I kind of stopped following how Cecil was doing since he was sent back down to AAA. Hopefully he can do a decent job for us.

Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com reports that the Blue Jays are "particularly interested" in Justin Morneau, but so far the Twins don't seem interested in trading him.

MRI for Drabek shows ligament tear. Likely Tommy John for him.

Has a visit scheduled with Dr. Andrews to confirm. that's very unfortunate for Drabek. See you back in the bigs in 2014.

Ah man, that sucks. I fear that this will really hurt his progression.

I think Gozer posted something from fan graphs last year where they noted Drabek as a guy to watch for being a future Tommy John candidate due to his throwing style. It sucks, but a lot of guys have been able to come back from it. Hopefully Drabek can too.

Kyle Drabek (elbow) is scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery Tuesday.
Drabek was diagnosed with a ligament tear in his elbow, so it was something of a foregone conclusion. This will be the second Tommy John surgery of his brief career. He'll miss the rest of the season and the early portion of 2013, as well.

Jays trade cash for a Royal that didn't make the rotation this season.
Exactly the kind of trade I wanted - a guy that could be a player...from a team that doesn't develop prospects well... at no cost.

Sounds like Lind is on his way back to the Jays.

Manager John Farrell mentioned the first baseman, currently on a tear for triple-A Las Vegas, as a possibility Sunday during his daily chat with reporters when asked about his plans for the DH spot.

Who else are you going to call up? I'm fine with this move. Davis is playing incredibly well in LF right now and going to have quite a high trade value if this continues.

Believe me Kel, I don't have anything good to say about him or his piss poor work ethic and workout regime that has not yet him to develop at all. I just understand the move

From the Toronto Sun
BRANDON MORROW
He left his start against the Washington Nationals after nine pitches with a strained oblique muscle in his left side in. He’s now in Dunedin rehabbing and is expected to miss two months, returning Aug. 11 or so.
Best case: 12 missed starts.
Worst case: 15 or more. Doctors and trainers have timetables for injuries such as a hamstring or an elbow. Not so with an oblique which, besides being a muscle, also has a meaning of “indirectly stated or expressed; not straightforward” in the dictionary.
So 4 of 5 starters hurt (hopefully Alvarez not hurt badly), but still would have had to find a replacement starter for him when his innings limit was up anyway. I guess it's just going to be Romero and a bunch of plugs most of the rest of the way. Hoepfully no more major injuries. Gonna make for some long game I think. I guess will see just how many games good hitting can win.

I read on "Mike Wihner's" blog the following quote " John Farrell said after the game that Richmond's call-up (Robert Coello was sent down) had nothing to do with Alvarez having to leave the game early, that Richmond was coming up to be a part of the bullpen and that he didn't believe Alvarez' injury was serious. In fact, the thinking is that Alvarez may not even have to miss a start."

Shi Davidi @ShiDavidi Travis d'Arnaud tore the PCL ligament in his knee last night sliding into second. Out 6-8 weeks, no surgery needed, rest of knee fine.
