Get real. This is a thread to discuss the books. Some of the things quoted were published 13 years ago. No need for spoiler tags at all.

Disagree completely. There is spoilers in the title. I come here to discuss all matters of the book, not to click on spoiler tags.

What? If you don't know about those moments, you shouldn't be in this thread. The only time spoilers should be tagged is when the Winds of Winter first comes out and people are still reading it at their own paces, like it was when A Dance With Dragons came out.

Anything published can be discussed. So if you aren't up to the end of the series, you may want to wait until you are caught up with the series before reading on.
|
Since it was almost 2 years ago (!) that A Dance With Dragons was published, any thread on the internet dealing with the series will have spoilers.
And just looking at the 4th post in this thread - well, there won't be a much bigger spoiler.

It has been interesting watching Michelle Fairley answer questions about her death in the Red Wedding.
We know she comes back as a re-animated character. The show watchers don't.
In interviews she avoids mentioning her own future involvement by talking about working with Richard Madden, how they spent 3 years working together and that has ended, yadda, yadda

Ok, ok.
Back on topic ...
After next season, hopefully there will be another book out. However, I am worried the show and its success will sway George RR Martin's writing.
For example, he may have been loosely planning on Dany coming over winning, but then he decides they all die in a war and the Bolton ####### rules the 7 kingdoms.

I wonder why Ygritte doesn't shoot Jon as he's escaping. They've kept the true nature of their relationship, along with Jon's loyalty, pretty vague. I'll be interesting to see if they change what happens when they "meet" again at the wall.

I can't believe someone called Arya joining the Faceless men.
That has GOT to be someone who has read spoilers.

Especially since the Faceless Men have been barely touched upon in the show.

I'm going to type this in there:
"I hope they introduce a new house next season. Maybe one from a desert region or something and they have a kick ass warrior named the Vibora Rogue"

As if daradon is guessing.... He's at least reading this thread
1st. Guesses the RW.
2. Once people in here pick it up he makes a post saying how shocked he is.
3. Now he "guesses" the dragons being free and terrorizing people cause dany is lazy.

Not only that but he said that the "writers" mentioned there aren't any major events or deaths until the end of book 5.
... I can't find the writers saying that on google.
I did find a funny quote in this article though:
Quote:
“So I need to write faster. The last two books took a really long time, so I’m hoping this one [the Winds of Winter] will go a little faster. But I make no promises. I found out long ago that when you look at the overall task, the cathedral you have to build, it looks so daunting that you just give up and sit down and play a video game.”

Also this article mentions they want 8 seasons total?
