I was playing Be a GM and simmed a season. I traded Holmstrom to the Avs for two 2012 Avalanche first round picks. Yes they were the same pick....one wasn't a pick that originally belonged to another team. That was strange. By the end of deadline day I had 5 first round picks from trading old pending UFAs.
The number of injuries seems ridiculous even turned down to the lowest setting.

Rating overalls don't seem to matter much to me. Wayne isn't going to check or defend s whole lot, so it doesn't make sense that he'd have a high rating for that, and since defense is half the game it's going to bring down his overall.

Seems to be playing fine. No glaring differences other than better replays, and a cool EXP tally at the end of each game (for both your player and team).
As always, everyone is pretty brutal to start out with and passing can be a bitch with low stats.

I really like this game more than any of them in the past, but I seem to be absolutely terrible at taking the puck away from the other player and it seems that he can do it so easy. Why am I so bad?

Pure speculation here, but my guess is you just transfer a game save. The pre release is basically the full game, so it would (should) be no different than renting the game, starting up a franchise (settings included) and then buying the game and loading the save. Perhaps it's more complicated than that, but I hope it's not.

It's getting solid reviews across the board. Only have one afternoon class tomorrow so LOTS of time to check it out afterwards  Should be a good day!

They stopped renting out games/movies as soon as it was announced they were closing nation wide. All you can do is buy there now.
