This season has been a bit of a letdown for me so far. Anything involving Mack and his crew is boring plus they are all incompetent. Mack is walking around frightening to make a mistake, Yo-Yo mysteriously is "not ready" and as a result her love interest dies.
They take no precautions when studying the alien bat and even make "Alien" references and proceed to take the same stupid actions the people did in some of those movies. Was that intentional? Dr. Benson is sulking and confused and awestruck, yea we get it you're in over your head well get your #### together. And somehow Mack was completely unaware of what Deke was up to even though he had an undercover in Deke's company.
Anything involving Daisy, Fitz, Simmons and Enoch is great.

Yeah the split story lines have been a little confusing, though having Clark Gregg playing the bad a%% killer has been great.
But Mack hasn't been a good leader, and we get the doctor is way over his head and making mistakes.
I'm a little dissapointed in YoYo, she was so good in the Coulson dying arc last year. Its been a little disjointed. I enjoyed the Deke episode a lot, I was hoping for more of his girlfriend.

Forgot to mention Gregg, he's the best part of the show even when he's not Phil Coulson. At least at this point I don't think he is.
I have a theory on that.
Spoiler!
First and foremost they hinted that Melinda poisoned Coulson. So you would think that he's dead.
But Sarge says things that Coulson has said and he said the name Coulson was vaguely familiar.
Sarge has both hands. So it can't be the original Coulson.
He also says he's been fighting these aliens forever, but he doesn't seem convinced of it.
We know that there are alternate time lines.
We've also seen how Sarge and his team travel.
What if this Coulson is the Coulson from the alternate time line with the destruction of earth, but Coulson was somehow saved from the end of the world and given a version of the Tahiti treatment to make him into Sarge to carry on the work of a previous Sarge. That way, the whole Coulson familiar and him speaking like Coulson would be answered. And they're using a version of the monoliths to not only travel across the galaxy, but across dimensions.
Edit there's a hole in my theory
Spoiler!
He would have had to have been snatched before he lost his arm.

That's a damn good theory I hope the writers go with something along those lines. The arm thing I guess they could cheap out and say he has a synthetic it just looks real.
The cool thing is they could have spent several episodes with FitzSimmons in the mind control construct but they didn't Enoch breaks them out. Didn't expect that. Awesome stuff.

I wasn't really, it would have been too close to the framework, I love that they bought back nazi Leopold and that Fitz threatened to bring back Aida. I had hope that we'd see an appearance by Mallory Jenson who was awsome in her role as Aida.
Overall I liked this episode, it was a nice breather episode, but with some really tough moments with Fitz finding out that he'd died and that Coulson was gone as well.
I liked the interaction between 7 year old Simmons and Fitz when she called him a buttface.
We also learned how destruction these parasites are, and maybe how unstoppable.

Jed Whedon has confirmed that this season is taking place pre Thanos finger snap of doom
That doesn't make sense. Overall they have been tracking the same timeline as the movies. Last season they hinted about Thanos attacking and this season is supposed to be one year later as Daisy and co have been hunting Fitz for a year. I was thinking it was some split timeline thing after their time travel adventures.
Sarge is a mirror universe version of Coulson, they are both exceptional strategists and Sarge had a plan within a plan going tonight to get his freedom
The Shriek's creator is coming and its in Sarge's word a god.
Loved Kitson's speech about how his grandfather built his empire with 20 slaves
Deke trying to bluff Daisy over his air jordan shoes was great, I expect him to put more fruit in her bed.
The chemistry between Fitz and Simmons is so good. Gemma not liking Kitson as much because she isn't high this time was hilarious.
You can really see that Clark Gregg is enjoying playing the heavy, he's just dominating every scene that he's in.
We're heading into the second part of the shortened season and it just feels like a major piece of the puzzle is missing that's going to make us look at some scenes in the first half of the season as terrifying.
Fire breathing henchman!

Really enjoyed tonights episode as we are heading towards the end of the season with 5 episodes left
Spoiler!
We finally learned who the big bad was this year after meeting her last week. as Izel the captain of the ship transporting Fitz Simmons home is a inter-dimensional god who is after the monoliths, she was a Mayan godess in earths ancient history.
Basically we found out why the Shrikes emit crystal's when they die and that they die around each other. Basically they're construction material for a massive tower in the middle of the desert and when Izel arrives at the tower it will unleash billions of Shrikes that will destroy the planet.
We also had a faint hope that Sarge was going to be a hero, and he kind of is in that he's out for revenge for the death of his family and is chasing Izel across the universe. Unfortunately his plan is to blow up a monstrous bomb that will leave a 200 mile crater to kill her. So, yes he wants to kill her and save the planet, well part of the planet. Does anyone think that this could be an actual world destroying event similar to the one that Shield prevented last year, which goes back to the whole idea that you can't alter the timeline as it will always snap back to where its supposed to go?
The funny thing is the similarity of Sarge and Izel. Izel has told Fitz and Simmons that she merely wants to recover the monoliths and her mission is benign, but clearly she's not on the up and up as she's infected her whole crew with Shrikes. Meanwhile Sarge sold Shield that he wants to save the planet, but he was clearly not on the up and up.
Random thought - The portal usage by Coulson was uber cool to watch.
Even though Sarge is not Coulson he has the same kind of wry wit.
Out of Sarge's clue snowflake is just awesome and I hope they find a way to keep her. The seduction of Deke was well done as were the reactions by Daisy and May.
Simmons doesn't get that this Fitz is not the Fitz that she married, so her talking about her wedding night and the sacrifice by the other Fitz to this one is almost really cruel.

Really good episode on Friday, although I wonder what's going to happen next. Obviously,
Spoiler!
Izel is not dead. Did she somehow take over Davis? Did May really kill Sarge, or is he one of Izel's people who rebelled against her, and therefore has one of the bat things inside him?
Loved Jaco, too.

Really sad to see Jaco die, and loved that Yoyo was the central hero here. There's no way that Izel is dead, she's a god from the old books.
I think that Sarge is a body jumping rival or rebel to Izel who happened to be wearing a Coulson suit (Still doesn't explain the arm thing though.
I can't remember if May got separated from everyone else for a second or two, but I expect that she's been infected.
I also expect that Sarge himself isn't dead, just Coulson's body is dead.
The Davis thing was weird, but I expect there's one more party involved in this.
A piece of weird trivia, I'm a huge Wing Commander fan, the last game of the series was really Wing Commander Prophesy which was made in I think 1997, and featured a somewhat detached cowardly pilot named Dallas who reached a horrific end after finally finding his courage. He was played by Joel Stoffer, and though he had a few minutes of in game time he was memorable because he was the first meaningful and horrible death in the game. Stoffer played Enoch in Shield.

Remember the first few season 1 episodes? They were downright awful plus I thought the cast was terrible. How wrong I was this is easily one of the best shows on TV.

My thoughts on that
Season 1 started really slow - They had a tough time with establishing characters, and I thought Grant Ward is so boring. That season turned on a dime with the phrase "Out of the darkness and into the light Hail Hydra". The betrayal was so well done, and the execution of Victoria Hand was jarring. Suddenly the characters popped into their roles. Bill Paxton was awesome. The last half of that season was great
Season 2 - The inhuman war was decent, but it felt a little sluggish compared to the second half of season one. But it was still good, the main theme was around Skye changing to Daisy. The villains were ok, but not as devious. But still good.
Season 3 - the Hive season. I liked this season because it it bought back Grant Ward, and then made him a god. The ending of Hive was actually really well done and sad. I thought it was pretty strong, as well. And it closed off the Hydra threat
Season 4 - The frame work, Aida, evil Fitz. This season was outright awesome, and probably the best season of the series. a whole ton of heartbreak in it as well.
Season 5 - I did like this season and it was really good, but season 4 over shadowed it, plus we got the weirdness of Shield in space which I think was done due to a cut in the effects budget which allowed them to use confined spaces and sets. I still felt bad for Talbot who became a villain because he thought he could fix things.
Season 6 - The juries out, but so far I've really thought it was strong and the character interaction has been great. Plus Coulson/Sarge is awesome.
