Increasing alcohol content seems to work for me. My group partakes in birdie juice religiously - no excuses. Usually all it takes is one - someone breaking the seal - and they come out in bunches. There are times when we're getting deep in the front and no one has made one and we suggest "sacrificing a virgin" to break the seal. Have only done that once, but it worked like a dream. The birdies came in bunches after that.

In our groups we just switch to "par juice" around the 8 or 9th hole, usually.

Solid 82 at Mt. Lorette this evening. Most shocking thing of the round is we played in less than 4.5 hours. Maybe the carts allowed on fairways finally will eliminate the 5 hour rounds.

While visiting my brother and his wife in Northern Minnesota I got to play a couple of really nice golf courses. Best of all they were not too expensive. Ruttgers was $65 and that included a cart. Northwoods was $59 including a cart. It was hot and very humid but I managed to get 4 rounds in.

I've played it 3 times this year. What do you need to prepare yourself? It's a pretty simple course IMO, aside from the first couple of holes on the back 9 where you have to resist the urge to cut the corner because the penalty area on the right side extends further than you'd expect.

All 18 holes have a drone flyover on YouTube, if that helps.

Wrote a long winded answer without answering a simple question.

I was just asking what exactly he wanted to know - I haven't played there in a few weeks now but the conditions have been perfectly fine last time I was there. Nothing mindblowing but nothing to complain about.

Also just the fact that there is a drone flyover of each hole helps immensely if you aren't familiar with a course. Just writing down "can miss long", or "don't miss left" for each hole is a big help, IMO.

It was in really nice shape. Hasn't been that good in a long time.

Had a good round going until I decided to play the last three holes 5 over.

Played 36 holes yesterday. Walked the first 18 in the morning and then carted the last 18 in the late afternoon for men's league.

I love playing 36! I think I've only done it once this year though.

Played Kidd a week or so ago and it was slooooooww. Over 5 hours. People in front were hitting multiple balls to my ire. That said, they were often behind the group in front anyway.

Contributed to a horrific round. So did my quad.

My fastest rounds there have been with trolleys. Everyone goes to their own ball. And it's not tough to walk, especially Lorraine.

My spring trip we do one day of 36. But the second round is often a shorter 18 (like Ridge at Cooper Point) or sometimes a best ball or some other quicker game.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the guys trips! I have played 36 a number of times this year when I add that to the equation.

The next day wasn't so nice. My arms and shoulders were stiff and sore and I played like crap! Today I decided to take the day off
