Throwing his teammates and coach under the bus simultaneously. Good job Connor.

Now, now, don't be silly.

1. Pissy is off in Germany getting homoeopathed for a major injury. That means Mavi has no teammates.

2. Mavi has no coach either, never has had. The whole idea of a coach is that you at least kind of listen to what he has to say. All his so-called coaches do is tell him when his next shift begins (but not when it ends; he decides that). An egg timer could do that job.

Isn't this the coach that McDavid himself made them hire a couple years back? And who coached them to 2 cup finals?

He really seems like a terrible leader. You would never see Crosby say something like this.

I guess we now know where Mcdavid will agree to be traded after next year.

Wow, those are very telling comments. His team has been to back-to-back SCFs and yet they are only somewhat rehearsed and not to the level of Tampa. He's really attacking the coaching, and it seems to me he's putting more of the blame on the systems than the execution.

It was funny listening to Knob's reaction to that. When asked about McDavid's comments, he was tripping over himself and could barely form a response. You could tell he was walking on egg shells trying not to openly contradict McDavid while also trying not to accept responsibility himself.

McDavid is virtually uncoachable and doesn't understand that it starts with him and he isn't a team player. The only extent to which I blame the coaches is that none of them have ever had the guts to put him on the 3rd or 4th line for a couple of games to discipline him early in his career. He was never developed as a player past the age of 18 and never had to be accountable (which probably works it's way up to Katz who bent the knee to him on draft day).

I seriously question that. In Tampa, he would have to learn to check! Systems are for lesser beings.

I was watching the highlights on NHL, and on that second goal for the Oilers, I thought that their announcer was stroking out. What an embarrassment.

Did he say all that? Looks like AI. But he is a robot.

I wonder if they “rehearsed” McDavid going one on three on the powerplay?

Awesome to hear McDavid talk about the lightnings system and coaching after he just went 1 on 3, got decked and hung his team out to dry

The thing in Edmonton that mystifies me is that for as long as I remember...its always the coaches fault, or the management team, or the equipment guy....etc

Never do they look at the guys who pull the jersey over their heads for answers to why the team is struggling....if they are going well, its always because of the players, but when things go South...nope.

The local media is far to controlled or daft to ask the questions, so the mouth-breathing masses lean into the same narrative. Over and over....rinse and repeat.

Anyway....this made me chuckle

Let me expose for McDavid the real reason why one team looks like a well rehearsed team and one does not.

Cooper > Knoblauch
Vasilevskiy > Ingram
Johansson > Jarry
Lilleberg > Emberson
D'Astous > Walman
Cernak > Murphy
McDonagh > Nurse
Raddysh > Bouchard
Moser > Ekholm
Bjorkstrand > Jarventie
Paul > Henrique
Perry > Jones
Holmberg > Roslovic
Gourde > Samanski
Girgensons > Savoie
Goncalves > Kapanen
Cirelli > Dickenson
Guentzel > Podkolzin
Hagel > Hyman
Point > Nugent-Hopkins
Kucherov > McDavid

It's not a question for Knobby, but one for Bowman and every previous GM since McDavid's been there.

I thought he rehearsed it at the Olympics. Funny enough, similar result.

Played golf yesterday with a hardcore Oilers fan and he is certain they will make the post season but are likely to get blown out in the 1st round. Says McDavid is gone this summer and the team will get all the pieces they need to be better from any trade where McDavid is involved. Interesting to see realization and delusion in the same statement.
