You’ll never get over it as long as you don’t accept the fact that Buffalo was in love with the Vegas players
According to 32 thoughts their ask of Anaheim was two firsts, Drysdale and Zegras
Not sure what the Flames equivalent would be
Maybe all the success in Stockton helps someone fall in love with some of our prospects.
Of course I don’t mind if they are successful here obviously but I think you’re right in that for many of these deals, you can’t create interest in your prospects that isn’t there.

I guess for me, if you say the Flames could "easily beat" the Vegas offer it has to be on the assumption that none of your prospects beats Krebs in Buffalo's opinion, so you have to offer more prospects and you also have to offer a player that is clearly better than Tuch both on contract and on-ice performance, which to me leaves Lindholm and not many others. Johnny is a better player in a worse contract situation. Dube is on a better contract but no one is going to say he's better than Tuch at any point in the near future.
And then you have to make cap work as well, assuming Eichel makes it for the season.

Tuch is also from Buffalo and will actually play there...almost anyone else would probably want out ASAP

Yeah, I mentioned that in my earlier post. Plus, assuming he recovers from his shoulder surgery, he's just a really good player with a big upward trajectory. Like I said before, his trajectory is a lot like Mangiapane's. Except he's signed.
I can see why we’d be sending first round picks a number of young starting players and our best prospect to them for their 1 defenceman of which we have a surplus.

because that player is ridiculously under rated around the league and young himself
A bad teams best player for picks and prospects is pretty standard
Would be funny to get him since that's basically our draft pick. We're thin on RW too. This might be an opportunity for us to buy low and turn it into something promising. The kid is still fast, big, and has scoring potential.
With all that being said, this is why we won't get him.

Senshyn was a reach when he was drafted and hasn’t shown anything since then. He’s a reclamation project at best.
I'd rather just recall Phillips than trade anything for Senyshyn.
I think that the idea is that Senyshyn would start in Stockton and prove his worth. The problem that he is having in Boston is that he is projecting as a bottom six RW, and they had hopes for him to be a power top six RW. The expectations are all out of whack. Since Calgary has no history in developing the player, they wouldn't care about him not meeting projections.
I think that he could end up a decent fourth line guy, does all the little things, and no real defects. High end fourth liners have value, but not if the fans and organization had unrealistic dreams.
They might be interested in Colton Poolman (and a late pick) as a little depth pickup.
