Ok so if the season ended today we'd have the Cardinals hosting the Phillies. The Mets hosting the Padres, The Jays hosting the Mariners, and the Guardians hosting the Rays. Some things can shuffle but it's really looking like this will be the case across the board. I wonder what that means for TV scheduling. The biggest market will be Philadelphia and with them playing Pujols and the Cardinals you'd have to assume they're going to get the primetime spot. The Mets Padres will likely be the second biggest draw. But you have to think the Jays and Mariners would out draw Cleveland and Tampa. So I think you'd see the Jays get the mid afternoon time slot. Something like a 4pm Eastern so 2pm here. Not terrible if that's the case. Although with the new playoff format I wonder if they'll change up how they showcase the games.

Games will be at 1, 2, 4 and 8 ET. I heard this on MNF.
Betting the Jays get the first game. 2 is the ABC game so probably the Mets.

So most likely the blue jays playoff schedule is
Thursday Oct 7 (Manoah)
Friday Oct 8 (Gausman)
Saturday Oct 9 (Barrios?) (If necessary)
all at Rogers Centre?

Stripling is most likely getting game 3 too with Berríos being on standby in case one of the starters has to leave early or if it goes into extra innings.

Seattle loses. Atleast we don't have to worry about White and Kikuchi blowing it.

Home Field!
First playoff appearance in 21 years for the Mariners. And hopefully they don't even get a home game.

Really a nice feeling considering the ups and downs of this season. A chance for a breather for the team too, and to rest some guys who may need it. No way Stripling doesn’t get a start. I think you go Manoah, Stripling, Gausman.
One other way to play it, since you have to win 1 non-Manoah start it you want to advance. Is go Stripling game 1. If you win, Gausman game 2. If you win both you have Manoah for games 1 and 5 of the ALDS.
If you lose game 1, then Manoah in game 2.
If you win game 1 and lose game 2, then Manoah in game 3.
Definitely over thinking it but it’s an idea that popped in to my head today

If you win game 1 with Manoah I probably use Stripling for game 2, that way if you win that game you have Gausman for game 1 of the DS but if you lose then you have Gausman for the decisive game 3.
If you lose game 1 with Manoah then I use Gausman for game 2 because you don't want to be eliminated not having used your team leading fWAR pitcher.

Thanks to the Tigers though. Going to be nice not having to send out all the starters to play in cool rainy conditions and risk injury.

Yeah that’s a good point. You can’t go down in 2 games not having used both Manoah and Gausman (as good as Stripling has been)
