I'd forgotten what a real snowfall looks like in this city.

It's actually kind of nice - bring on winter!

30 minutes and still only a few blocks from home, decided to come back and “work from home” for the morning. Teams meetings all morning anyway.

What’s that plow site for the city.

Deer Ridge to Downtown in about 25 minutes at about 6:50 this morning.

Avg speed was 57-60 km/hr on Deerfoot but it was moving.

Put the snow tires on last night. Had no problems with the roads....except other people.

I swear it only snows when I have appointments across the city. It's uncanny actually.

Even in these conditions, I maintain the Elbow Drive rich person's playground zone should still be a 50 KM/H zone minimum.

Brand new Nordmans are gripping like a dream.

Easy to weave around the white knucklers in AWD vehicles (really guys?)

In fairness, a nice sheet of snow is fine in -1 conditions like these.

The problem is it comes with disgusting cold.

There's an article / podcast about the history of that playground zone. https://www.sprawlcalgary.com/sprawl...one-in-calgary

The best thing about retirement is you don't have to go out and drive in this crap.

That was really interesting actually, thanks for shared. A sad story, but also one that kind of challenges what some people think about these things (hopefully).
