Jays win in a 9th inning comeback, MNT with a decisive win against a team who always gives them more trouble than they should, and the Oilers season ends again.

Canada have to be the favourites to win the Gold Cup, even more so after last night's result. US have a depleted squad and Mexico have looked poor for a while.
Now they just have to actually win it.

Comprehensive, decisive, clinical. Great win to open the tournament. Feels so good to smack Honduras
A nice mix of experience and youth in the starting XI .Guys like LDF, Saliba, Sigur(!!), Oluwaseyi, are the future. Laryea, Buchanan, J David are the present and leadership.
We probably talk about Waterman more than the 4th or 5th CB on the depth chart warrants due to his Cavalry connections but I thought he was good (backing upo a strong performance against Ivory Coast)! And playing him against a team that is going to sit back (and partnered with a more athletic CB to provide some cover) makes a tonne of sense as he's by far got the most passing ability to break lines amongst the CBs. That's something that shouldn't be overlooked and it does appear that Jesse Marsch trusts him.
I hope Luc De Fougerolles gets a championship loan next year and can really push on and become the defender we think he can. That's a game changer for the program.
I would love to see Sigur get an extended run out alongside Eustaquio in midfield sometime. I think he could be special
Our striker group is so fun. Oluwaseyi is scoring for fun in MLS (and gives real ability to get in behind the defence), the Davids, and Larin and Jebbison round out the group. Great to see Promise extend his contract in Belgium yesterday too. Guaranteed Champions League football and stability ahead of the world cup.
J David and Buchanan showing off is excellent. Now they both need to get their club situation sorted ahead of the world cup so they're playing consistently
I imagine we'll see some rotation against Curacao on Saturday
I saw your post as I am currently watching Jesse Marsch's interview on Men In Blazers where he's talking about why he got the red card against the States and it all stems back to the players asking him to help them get more respect from the federation/opponents/referees/concacaf/you name it
I love this man. I'm guessing he went somewhere he shouldn't have gone (down to the tunnel too early) or something stupid like that

It’s believed Marsch was directed by a Concacaf official to a suite in Vancouver’s BC Place ahead of Canada’s match, where he was to watch the game. Marsch was then approached by a Concacaf official later in the match and told he was not in the correct place and had to leave the suite. Marsch, likely frustrated at what he believed to be mixed messaging, then used language Concacaf deemed “offensive.”
