I think he was exaggerating for effect.

The article says he is now a shade over 6'3.

Still doesn't make any sense to me. Either it matters if the player can play in the NHL next season, or it doesn't. Weisbrod commented the other day that nobody they draft would be likely to have an impact in the NHL next season anyway. I just don't see any need to rush our prospects into the NHL. Smacks of desperation.

For pete's sake, would the Flames brass show us their final draft rankings and tell us and the rest of the hockey world exactly what they are going to do on Sunday? All this misdirection and inconsistency is unacceptable. We deserve to know ahead of time what their plans are. Fire them all. They aren't fit to run this team.

Why the hell does it matter at all if they come over right away or not?

Only one it matters with is Nichushkin.

You think Feaster means NHL when he says "come over"? Seems closer to just North America in general, otherwise I think he would have used "step in" or something similar. Lots of reasons to want to have a top prospect playing in North America rather than in Europe, even if they aren't in the NHL, and of course that's going to be a factor.

That's just a horrible factor. This team is going to be bad for years. Why pass over a guy because he may go back to Europe for one year? Rebuilding is a process not a race.

I want Flames to draft Lindholm if only to calm down the peeps on here who over-analyze every comment coming out of Feaster's mouth when it comes to "players coming over and making immediate impact"...

Seriously, calm down people...

They'll pick the BPA on their list, period.

Imagine we passed on Barkov because of the chance that he might not come over for next season.

My god this management team is simply brutal.

Just take Monahan, and all will be forgiven..

Keep your eye on the prize, Feaster.

Holy overreaction. The guy said it was a factor. The type of cereal these kids eat is going to be a factor.

Shawn Mitchell ‏@smitchcd 9m Once on clock, #NHL teams will have 3 minutes to make selections during all rounds of the draft, Teams can use up to five, 5-min. timeouts.

First round should be a lot faster this year

In the story. Says he's over 6'3 which has him closing in on 6'4. The difference is not that much. He's still going to be a very large player.

Wear your Jersey and give a shout out to "Calgary Puck" when Button comes out to make the pick.

You're forgetting all the TV timeouts when the ice stage crew has to come out and clean the debris thrown at Bettman.....This is in Jersey after all.

3 minutes is pretty demanding, especially in the 1st round.

Especially if/when an unexpected name falls, and teams are debating amongst themselves what to do. Imo they shouldn't time the first 15. After that, put in the rule.

Teams should simply have a list, that includes names that they don't expect to drop. Then you just work down the list.
