- New manager for LFC, new GM for Flames
- Remarkable climb up the standings for both teams
So how awesome would it be if the Flames ended up with a playoff spot, and Liverpool qualified for Europe, given how terribly both clubs started this season?

I did notice this, its been a really rough season as a fan and right now its all about wondering whether the bad luck continues or if they'll catch a break.
The thing that worries me about the Flames is that in my opinion, at the end of the season there could be 3-7 teams that finish the season with the same number of points and based on tie-breakers some teams are going to be disappointingly out of the playoffs for really marginal reasons.
With Liverpool, unfortunately they'd effectively have to run the table and have one of Spurs, Rentboys or City completely choke.
In both scenarios there exist elements of the equation that are outside of the control of the teams.

You too? Wow, I thought it was just me, that day totally sucked. My GF thought I was crazy. That day was terrible.

I had similar thoughts as well earlier this season. Pretty accurate comparison IMO.

Some Meireles love:

Liverpool midfielder Raul Meireles has been crowned the ESPN PFA Fans' Player of the Month for February, after playing a vital role in the Reds' resurgence under Kenny Dalglish.

Finally, Portugal have a decent player.
Also, depending on work I am debating trying to make it down to the pub on Sunday morning. The only downside is that if we enter into 'Fergie-time' it might start running too late....

Nuje, you heading to the pub on Sunday? I'm giving it serious consideration.
Its going to be a huge match, I dont know what Kenny's got in store, but I think hes got a surprise or two up his sleeve.
The one thing is, if Liverpool play for the draw, we've seen that United dont always have the quality or ability to break teams down and we could see a repeat of the result at Stamford Bridge.
I dont know what they're going to do, but the prospect of getting our first look at the tandem of Carroll and Suarez is enticing.

If I had to guess Carroll starts on the bench at most, but I'm not sure I even expect that much. Far as the pub? Save a severe fail on my part waking up I don't see why not. If I can't get to bed by 10:30 I'm going all-nighter just to not miss the game, so yeah. Even that early in the morning it's always a big draw....the 4-1 was one of the best games I ever saw there.

Yes!!!! I am not a morning person. I'll still be angry at 11 for having to wake up before 7 usually. Not today, in a great mood! We liked that match so much, we are going back to the pub to watch the replay at 3:30. If anyone wants to come to join in the celebration, feel free. . Was Suarez the best buy of the January transfer window? I don't even mean for the money, just, overall. Just oozes talent that guy.

So glad I dragged myself outta bed this morning to witness that. That was fun to watch, and the bad blood really added to it. A win like that has to be good for everyone involved.

It sucked that I had to work, but I PVR'd it and this one was worth it. What a response after the worst game of the year last week!

Setanta sports, its a pretty pricy specialty channel, but it plays lots of soccer.

Strange, I have Setanta and I didn't see it listed in my guide. So I just assumed that match wasn't available here.

Aurelio out for a month with a Hamstring injury.
Daniel Agger unlikely to be fit against Braga, more than likely next week.

As for the Liverpool match, Ferguson held his hands up and admitted United deserved to lose to their rivals.
"I have no excuses for the poor performance at Liverpool, who were the better team and deserved their win,'' Ferguson said. "I was disappointed because we didn't perform to the level I expect and which, to be fair, we generally achieve.''
Holy crap! Never thought I'd see the day...
