Maybe, but the previous 2 weeks Rodgers was the superstar and Favre was decidedly ordinary. Yeah, the injury is harsh for the Packers, but there is no way of knowing if anything similar would have happened if Favre was still there.

Rodgers did not play well even before he hurt his shoulder....but either way the whole QB thing will be ongoing until Favre does retire.
As far as Rodgers shoulder...if it was seperated, he may miss a week or so, but if he dislocated it and popped it back in, he will be sore but should be able to play this weekend.
The Packers are in trouble though simply because of the loss of Al Harris...he allowed them to do so many things defensively they cant do now. It was apparent yesterday and the Bucs werent all that strong themselves.

DFF, I have to say that the current Broncos remind me somewhat of the Dick Vermiel era Chiefs. Great offense, but the defense is pathetic. You are going to go through a emotional roller coaster ride watching that team. Your offense will score at will, yet the D couldn't stop a beach ball so the Offense will constantly be forced to put up points to catch up or stay ahead. Look for 70-100 point shoot outs (combined score) this season.
The Chiefs D, despite the lack of a decent pass rush, played very well. Cutler had all day, but when it counted the Broncos had to settle for FG's (you got one hell of a kicker by the way). The offense still sucks, despite LJ's big day, I still think that pretty much any team could put up big numbers against that Denver Defense. Great to get the win though. That young team needed an emotional boost. They still will only win 4-5 games this season.

Add the Chargers to the list of teams like the Vermeil era Chiefs...they can score, but without Shawn Merriman their defence is a bit suspect too.
Nice to finally see the Chiefs win a game. I still dislike their play calling and the offence in general. But the team did play hard yesterday and was able to make a few plays on defence. Damon Huard is a below average QB, but the team does seem to at least show some signs of life when he's playing and looks like they can move the ball once in awhile. Something they just can't do with any of the other guys they have. IMO the Chiefs are going to have to find a way to get better at that position if they want to have a prayer. Cutler is the real deal, and Rivers might be a punk that everyone hates....but he's no slouch as a player either. So when you have two teams in your own Division who look to have two of the leagues better QB's for the foreseeable future...you better get on board too.

Whoever emerges from the AFC West is going to be a push over in the playoffs. I think that division could be a toss up between Denver, SD, and Oakland right now. Besides the only real game the Broncos have won was the Oakland game.

And he was targeted for an "earlier altercation". These are grown up guys, and should be free to do and go where they want, but geez, like Tranny says, nothing good seems to happen after midnight at clubs.

Same thing was said about the NFC last year...and we all know how that turned out.
The AFC is chalk full of pretty good clubs all licking their wounds because of a game here or there.
You can slag on Huard all you want, but dude can make some very pretty touch passes. He and Bowe played that sideline timing pattern to death yesterday and he was on the money everytime.
I've lost hope for the defense. Have to hope Bailey and Williams can make some big plays at key times and that maybe some of the young DL come into their own. I did notice that Dumervil was back to his old self yesterday.
The Chiefs have to get a young QB and preferably one that's ready to play right away whether it be through the draft or trade or free agency.

By the way, here's that Spencer Larsen hit on the KO return. Just as impressive today as it was live, which is often not the case with these hits.

When asked about his decision to punt on 4th-and-13 late in Sunday’s game, Childress said, “Based on the way we were playing defense, I thought we’d have a chance to get it back.”
The Raiders said the move was made for cause, meaning they will likely try not to pay Kiffin for the remainder of his contract. He signed a two-year deal worth about $4 million with a team option for 2009 when he took over last year. Kiffin's agent Gary Uberstine had no immediate comment.

They still haven't paid Shanahan for his very similar situation.

Wasnt that like $100,000 or something. Big differance between that and $3.5 Million. I heard Al Michaels on Monday Night Football one time say that Al told Shanahan that if he wanted his $100,000 it would cost him a million.
