Agreed.
Ever year same old frustrations with this team, but this year has gone beyond...new levels. Ive said from day 1 that Gibbons should have been shown the door last offseason. Oh well, how pumped am I about Cito coming back....LOOK THE HELL OUT NOW!!!!

Now that's offense. Like someone else mentioned, I don't see Gaston doing much in the way of improving the jays hopeless offense. But, I was never a fan of Gibbons so I welcome the change, too bad JP wasn't sent out with him.

The only one I am going to miss is our national team coach, the honorable Ernie Witt.

I saw him manage a few games that Gibbons missed and he did an excellent job. Too bad, I think in 2 or 3 years he might have made a great manager.

Finally.

Something had to be done. It's hard to pinpoint what, but a change needed to be made.

I like it, always liked Cito, hopefully he carries a blade like Jerry Manuel, that'll put some urgency in Rios' stride.

So who exactly is coaching tonight other than Cito and GirlySports?

Gaston, who has been special assistant to the president and CEO, had a 681-635 record as manager during his earlier stint. Joining his staff will be first base coach Dwayne Murphy, third base coach Nick Leyva and hitting coach Gene Tenace

Gotta love the return of the old guard.

I suspect JP might be moving on following the season.

I don't care if the team is being coached by a banana peel. Even a banana peel is better than John Gibbons.

I can finally start watching the Jays again, I disliked Gibbons coaching/managing of every game.

His merry go round of pitchers, sitting 3 of his best players in one game, etc cost this team to much.

he's always been in the background.

Just saw part of the news conference. Cito says he's always been interested in managing, he's just not interested in going through an interview process (he turned down an offer to interview for the Dodgers job awhile back).

You know, looking at some of the players that have been moved from the Jays... Gibbons wasn't the real problem. It's Riccardi.

Oh man....Doc just got a comebacker to the side of the head.

Rolen then caught the ball to end the inning, but some serious concern about Halladay, who walked off the field on his own (looked woozy, though).
