I roared like a bull when that Mang goal went in. Almost punched a hole in my ceiling. Goddam what a rush.

I wish I would have taken a pic of the opening sequence with the flashing cell phones. That was impressive.

I can't believe Lewis got to that puck. It didn't look like the Dallas player made a huge effort.
I can confirm that they were trying to start a wave in the 2nd tier at the beginning of the third period, while the Flames were trailing 1-0. Right next to me, as a matter of fact.

There should be two Game Threads.

One for us regular, decent Flames fans.

And one for the communist trash.

I always thought a venting forum might be useful.

The Wall of Shame isn't doing what you suggest. It is just posting comments that djsflames wants to shame. It isn't tearing apart with a well thought out argument. It is just shaming. It stoops to the same level of the comments that the poster is trying to battle.

This is exactly what the Wall of Shame is doing.

Maybe we need to be more rigorous in our shaming, but there's nothing to be gained by just letting the truly outrageous comments slide.
If by being more rigorous you mean, using reason and facts, then yes that could work. However, it is a game thread. It is pretty much just a chat and people type what is on their mind.

A coach who'd open the game up would already be planning for next season because the Stars would have been swept.

Not that he's an amazing coach, but you have to adapt to the personnel you have. That boring style is suited to that team - play low event hockey and hope your big guys come through with a couple goals.
Exactly, look at all of Dallas' goals in this series. Most of them are miracle tips, lucky bounces, etc.

The way Dallas is playing is essentially what Dave Tippett was brought in to do in Edmonton.

Hunker down until your big guns can get back on the ice and make something happen.

He put his own comment on the WOS, so don't take it too seriously.

I did the Falcon Punch essentially.

And "roar" was very accurate for me as well.

It was very primal. Like suddenly launching the weight of years and years of frustration off of you all at once.

Thank you Andrew, you made my life better last night.

This is a stupid concept and the game threads move so fast with so many comments that it is useless to pour through the pages after the fact and try to cherry-pick posts that fit someone's narrative. Just let what is said in the heat of moment die in that thread.

With that being said, comments like, "Tanev looking off. That's 3 times so far tonight he has had possession and made bad turnovers in our zone" is perfectly fine, and TBH was 100% true from last night, he didn't have his strongest game.
Comments like, "They sure as hell ain’t playing like men", "useless", "I don't mind losing" literally adds zero value to the discussion and should absolutely be shamed.
Yeesh I didn’t think my posts were that bad, but called out twice in one example post, I kind of see why people aren’t liking the WoS. I’m ok with being called over dramatic but to say someone’s posts don’t add value is essentially saying don’t post here, which is not the kind of community we want to be.

Well I think that's what some people want.

To be clear I'm fine with the WoS and being included on it but I wouldn't say the majority of the posters on it don't add value. A select few sure. I don't get why people get up in arms about that. Either put them on ignore figuratively (scroll by) or literally (there's a list for that).

there are certainly some innocent frustrated comments...there are also posters whose sole purpose is to wait until something bad happens and them jump online and tell us the players have tuned out Sutter or something stupid like that.

If 100% of someone's posts are like that (WOS outs them pretty quickly) they aren't here to discuss hockey and be part of the forum...they are just here to get a rise in their blue and orange sweatpants.

Oh to those who were at the game, did you guys see the RNH jersey and the 97 jersey? I won't ever understand why you would wear that to a Flames playoff game in which the Oilers are not involved.

I don’t know how you guys post and keep up with the conversation in the GT during the games? Not sure how you watch the game when you are writing and reading all the time.

I rarely post in those threads as I am usually watching the game delayed and when I have posted I can’t keep up with the game and the conversation. I also think many people cannot control their emotions and write some pretty ridiculous things down.

There are a handful of posters who have scaled back their posts or stopped posting altogether. Lanny MacDonald went from posting 10-15 walls of text a day ripping on the team and players and now posts far less. I don’t miss those one bit. Bo Levi goes to town when this team is losing 2-1 but goes away when they are winning. Haven’t seen Ricardo in a while.

This place was near unbearable last season and we finally get a good thing going I support keeping the negativity at bay as you could see it returning after game 3.
