I watched that interview, and I don't think that she said I don't know what Complicit means, and it was pretty much a trap interview and she tried to turn the use of a word with negative connotations to a positive scenario.
Frankly its similar to someone saying If I'm guilty of doing anything, I'm guilty of trying to do the right thing.
I mean I can't stand the Trump presidency at all, I think its dangerous and dishonest and it probably will not serve the United States well in the next four years. But this is pretty much a media hitjob on Ivanka to generate hits in my mind.
Completely agree. The only thing that annoyed me in her answer was her claiming that she was thrust into an unprecedented situation. She very easily could have said, "no daddy, I'm not equipped to work in the White House. Let me continue to work the clothing and jewelry business where my talents actually apply." Her agreement to work for President Comacho in the White House is an admission of comlpicancy though.
This is not some great victory it is only reversing a ridiculous decision previously made. I hope the media doesn't fall for the okey doke on this and praise him for doing what he should have done in the first GD place.

I'm perfectly fine with a media hitjob on Ivanka. She paints herself as her father's conscience, a reasonable voice that can lead him down the right path, as a true feminist who cares so deeply about women's issues, yet she ignores her father rolling back protections on women's ability to fight for equal pay, the numerous accusations of him assaulting women, won't speak up in favor of Planned Parenthood, etc.
She used her place as her father's obviously favorite child to get herself and her husband powerful positions within the White House. She's not an innocent child being attacked by the media, she's earned all the scrutiny she gets.
This isn't someone attacking Obama's minor daughters for wearing skirts they deemed a little too short, this is a full grown woman who has spent her entire adulthood taking advantage of her father's wealth and position of power to get herself ahead.

If we're following the standard Republican administration playbook this move is probably to distract from Gorsuch looking like a plagiarizer and not being as above reproach as the Republican majority would like you to believe. Their "nuclear option" being used on another questionable Don pick could cause additional harm to their brand.
Lol! It's Captains post a few posts before, but the VIEW POST link is somehow to something totally unrelated by you like a week ago. Either that's a glitch or some wizardry, one or the other.

Yea, I think Bannon is being set up as the fall guy.
Meanwhile, it seems China is now more popular than Trump with Americans. Trump now has the dubious approval rating of only 34%.
Quote:
Trump and Xi will sit down at the Republican’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida Thursday for a meeting of the leaders of the world’s two largest economies. After Trump repeatedly rallied against what he claimed were China’s abuses on foreign trade during his campaign, it promises to be a somewhat frosty introduction. And the pair won’t even be able to calm the tension over a round of golf, since Xi doesn't share Trump’s boundless enthusiasm for the game.
But among Americans as a whole, the frosty feelings toward China would appear to be thawing. Forty-four percent of Americans now have a favorable opinion of China, up from 37 percent a year ago, a Pew Research Center survey has found. By way of comparison, Trump’s approval ratings have dipped below 40 percent, with one poll putting it as low as 34 percent in recent days.
Haha, oooops. I think I had an old quoted post saved from something I decided against responding to, and when I went to delete that older post to just respond to Captain's post, I must not have deleted the whole thing. Sorry about that!
Fifty-five percent of Americans now support the Affordable Care Act (ACA), a major turnaround from five months ago when 42% approved and 53% disapproved. This is the first time a majority of Americans have approved of the healthcare law, also known as Obamacare, since Gallup first asked about it in this format in November 2012.
Quote:
55% approve, up from 42% right after 2016 election
40% want to keep law but make significant changes
30% want to repeal
26% want to keep law as it is

It's not like they cornered her on the street- it was a set interview. It's like Ms South Carolina and her awesome answer-
The definition is "involved with others in an illegal activity or wrongdoing" so to say yes I'm complicit is like saying "If hating equal rights is wrong, I don't want to be right!" As others have said, her and her hubby could have easily not accepted national security jobs and just lived the even higher lives of not just multimillionaires, but as the presidents VIP family, instead chose to be front and centre in her Dad's new venture, as the fead honcho of the US of A with high security clearance.
