I hate to bring optimism to the career ending injury discussion but if you watch Hamilton skate off he puts weight on his right leg but when he stops at the bench he stops on both skates. So favouring the left? Yes. 100% non weight bearing? No.

He's hurt enough to not return but lets not assume he's gone for the season already.

the fact that we have a comfortable lead makes me hopeful that Hamilton and Stone are being held out because its not urgent they come back tonight.....

Yeah, completely unfounded worries, for sure. Overall, this run has still been amazing, and the good news is we've got Winnipeg next.

I'm more concerned that his Achilles isn't sliced or something like that.

Hoping they're just holding him out for precautions with the game well in hand against a non conference opponent

Gio will spread some of his magical healing properties to both Hamilton and Stone after the game!

Man it could be a cut to his leg and not ankle. Could be 20 stiches and a week off. Guess we will wait and see.

I'm hoping Ham took a cut requiring stitches, but nothing more.

As for pairings, if both are out, I'd rather see Gio/Brodie together with Engelland/Bart get 2nd pairing minutes than have them try to cram Wideman back in among the top 4.

I would love to share the "precautionary" sentiment, but neither of those injuries looked very convincing to me.

let's all put the pitchforks down for a moment I was a little bit joking about the career ender chatter...

......a little bit. Just cracked out webMD, looks like the good news is that in fact it is not a career ender. However a bad injury could be months (allegedly, if that's even what he has). There we go, my medical diagnosis speculations are complete now.

Feels so good to be tied with the Oilers after tonight. Who would have thought that was possible two months ago?

Also, our top line looks like one of the best in the NHL right now. Definitely a lot to be happy about despite the cloud hanging over these potential injuries.
