I was initially thinking earlier on in the game: 'awesome, Bobadilla coming off! Thats a win for Liverpool!'

And then hes replaced by Caiuby.

Crap.

Maybe United should hire Murphy to replace LvG.

Quote:
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal blamed "the law of Murphy" for United's Europa League defeat to Midtjylland on Thursday.

"A lot of things are happening in the heads of the players and the first 10 or 15 minutes we were not so good. But after that we came in the match, we scored, we could have scored more.

"The second half we didn't win any duel, any second ball. You cannot afford a second goal, but we could have scored also. Jesse Lingard had two remarkable chances, so it is the law of Murphy I think."

Well...we didnt lose, so I'll take that as a positive. We didnt concede which is good.

Also Sturridge got 70 minutes and went off uninjured, so we've got that going for us too, which is nice.

All in all an okay 0-0 draw in a competition we really need to do well in.

Tottenham looked pretty good for about an hour, maybe a little less, but Fiorentina really came on as the game progressed. Not too bad considering how many guys Spurs managed to rest.

On a bit of a tangent, Dele Alli is a guy I would hate on the other team.

Van Gaal lost his damn mind. When he first joined Man U and signed a whack of left footed defenders, the signs were there..

Bayern are struggling.

Needing a Muller brace and some Lewy insurance to beat Darmstadt.

Hopefully they can get some players back fit because I am dreading that upcoming clash with Juve at the moment.

after certain English teams performances this week the coefficient really needs Bayern to take out Juve

Oh but what an overhead goal by Muller (of which I can't find a video online )

Injuries have certainly played a part but to me it looks like other than Muller and Lewy the team has shut down on Pep. Since they announced his departure they've kind of just plodded along rather than take the game to the opposition with intent

Well. Thats interesting. You dont see that everyday. Especially not from the Germans.

Quote:
The Bundesliga clash between Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund came to an extraordinary halt after Leverkusen coach Roger Schmidt refused to leave the field.

Dortmund's goal infuriated Leverkusen, and Schmidt was ordered to leave the dugout because of his protests. He refused, and in response, referee Felix Zwayer took the players off the pitch.

Leverkusen's official Twitter account posted: "The match is paused at the 65th minute after Roger Schmidt refuses to be sent off the pitch and the referees leave instead."

After talks, the teams re-emerged without Schmidt and the match resumed around eight minutes after the impromptu break started.

A little bit of gamesmanship between Buffon and Neuer ahead of their upcoming match.

Quote:
Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon paid tribute to his Bayern Munich counterpart Manuel Neuer, but said it is premature to name him as one of the world's best.

When asked if the German No. 1 was already in the category of world-class, Buffon shrugged his shoulders.

"I've been fortunate to see some fantastic, reliable goalkeepers with plenty of quality," Buffon said at a news conference in Turin. "Of course Neuer is one of this group of goalkeepers and he's a goalkeeper who plays in a very open-minded way.

I don't have a great feeling about the match today. I think Juve is going to surprise people with how good they are. Plus Mandzukic is going to be out for blood trying to stick it to Pep and Bayern is really lacking in CBs

Yeah, I'm thinking the same.

People are talking about Arsenal having a shot at Barca because their CBs are injured, but Bayern are playing pretty much without defencemen against a very 'in form' Juve.

Now Juve have been having trouble scoring goals lately but have been defensively airtight.

0-0 is well on the cards and wouldnt surprise me one bit. I dont know how I feel about that but I'm hoping Bayern can nick an away goal.

I hope not, obviously, but even that would be okay. I think Bayern could overturn that at the Allianz.

I just hope the tie stays in hand after today.
