Is this sarcasm? How can you call a series where the first 2 games saw 2 goal leads overcome and overtime a dud? The only thing I think this series is missing is the raw emotion and hate that typicaly builds in a Stanley cup final and in my opinion its the Rangers lacking the hate factor. LA is bringing it.

The Kings follow a great pattern, they almost sat back for the first part of the first two games and figured out what the Rangers were going to do and then turned their game against them. Last night they were confident that they had the pulse of what the Rangers were going to do and ripped their guts out.
They've done it in every series.
They're like Ivan Drago, sure they'll box with you for a while, toy with you for a while just to get a sweat on. Then Mrs Drago Sutter drops her first and the 5000 lbs per square inch bombs start raining down on you and you pray for the sweet release of death.
In this picture though, there's no plucky hero that can take a punch, or drive around in his porche or whatever getting mad while 80's montage music pulses in the background. The Rangers were dead as soon as the Kings kicked the crap out of them in the 3rd period of game one.

Habs should be grateful the Rangers saved them the embarrassment.

I kept noticing that too. It's like they evaluate how you play the first game or two and then capitalize on your mistakes. It's like they know your tendencies.

No. There's been good play obviously but I'm sorry, a series that goes 3-0 and will likely finish 4-1 is a dud. Especially when last year's final was so great.

LA has 3 7 game series in the West and then sweeps the finals (prediction)
I think the east-west argument is dead

Is it just me or does it seem like there was a lot of friction between Scott Oake and Hrudy/Stock last night? It looked like Oake was pissed right off by the end.

I'm totally with you, but didn't Rangers play also like 2x 7 game series and a 6 game series? So that's only 1 game less, just for arguments sake..

He's saying that it was an absolute struggle for the Kings to beat the top teams in the West, but they are able to walk over the supposed best team that the East has to offer.

Was there even an argument? All you had to do was look at the two playoff lineups.
COL - Contender
MIN - Meh
STL - Contender
CHI - Contender
ANA - Contender
DAL - Meh
SJS - Contender
LAK - Contender
BOS - Contender
DET - Meh
TBL - No shot
MTL - Meh
PIT - Contender (you would think but they look pretty bad)
CBJ - No shot
NYR - Meh (not sure anyone pegged them as a contender going in)
PHI - Meh
The power is definitely stacked in the west.

I dunno. Colorado may not be contenders right now, but they will only get stronger next year.
I'm still surprised Minny was able to edge them. A lot more weapons on the Avs. If they get another solid piece or two on defence, they'll be on a SJ/STL's level soon enough.

I agree, I had a tough time calling them a contender, but they did end up as the 2nd team in the West, so some props had to be given.

I know the media likes to hype the Penguins and all, but I wouldn't have considered them a contender at the beginning of the playoffs either.
The East contenders list basically starts and ends with Boston. They got upset in the second round, by a weaker opponent which happens sometimes. I also don't think New York, Montreal and all the other "Meh" teams on the list make the playoffs had they have been in the West.

Pittsburgh are great flat track bullies in the regular season, but they don't have what it takes to be contenders.
Completely agree with the rest of your post.

I think this is a much different final if Boston didn't draw Montreal in the second round.
I think Boston only had one matchup in the East this playoffs it needed to worry about - and it was the Habs. Montreal matched up well against Boston and Price got hot.
A Boston LA final would have been awesome hockey.

Yeah, it's pretty unfortunate the Habs are the B's achilles heel and they had to draw them in the second round. Boston would've rolled right through to the finals if it had been any other route to get there.
