I wish they did this every year. I'd be quite happy to never get stuck with a pre season game again.

For those of us who don't live in Calgary and can't get out to a game.

I believe they're supposed to play the Islanders in Saskatoon as a Flames road game. At the STH event in May, Feaster said they Flames were scheduled to play 4 preseason games at the Saddledome against the Oilers, Coyotes, Islanders, and Rangers.

I don't live in Calgary and, with the exception of the last two seasons, don't always get to go to games (one per year is lucky), and I would not want to pay regular prices for a pre-season game. If I'm paying that much money it is going to be regular season or playoffs.

Totally done tongue-in-cheek. I'm just envious of people who get to see their team play live on a regular basis. I live on Vancouver Island and the last game I saw was Calgary at Vancouver. Cost us over 1000 dollars for just my wife and I.
Pre-season games cost the same as regular season games? That does kinda suck.

The Flames have been doing preseason games in Saskatoon/Regina for several years now. This isn't a story.

Ice plant has been replaced 2 or 3 times in the last 15 years already...it's the other factors within the Saddledome as to why the plant really isnt effective anymore and a big factor why the owners decided on a new building 6 years ago or so rather than a massive overhaul of the Saddledome.

I thought it was air flow and humidity issues

No worries. I should have clarified I share seasons with a group of guys and it hurts when one of your 6 or 7 games ends up being a pre-season game with a split squad and you're still dropping $110 a seat. Yes, I'm lucky enough to have tickets and can go to the games but it still stings a bit when you end up with one.

pretty sure I heard KK say earlier that Saskatoon was an option (maybe even leading option) and also that the home opener was Oct 6th

Well they've started cancelling some Stampede events, concerts haven't been cancelled yet... but I suspect they will be soon.

terrific photos, especially of the electrical fuse panels. if you look at the copper conductors, and the muddy wet pipe they enter, and consider where the pipe has to go (through concrete walls etc)... now consider that this is a minor 400 amp switch, and there are several more like it on the event level... then consider the much larger switchgear that all of these sub-panels and switchgear are fed from, then consider all of the concrete walls that these conduits pass through, on their way back to the very important Central Distribution Panel then consider all of the smaller conduits, wires, switches, light fixtures that can be seen in the background of the photos. Ken King is going easy on the fans at the moment, but when the power authority explains to them that everything I've mentioned above, and more, will need replaced, I'm sure the truth will emerge that the team will have to play a sizable portion of the upcoming season in Sask

If that is so, I hope I am given by Flames management the opportunity to purchase the equal number of tickets per game and the equal number of games that would be relocated to Sask as are in my Flames account. I would expect many concerts to be cancelled then too.
