Yeah I agree, I don't see why that rule hasn't been changed by now. I guess players would start becoming more reckless with their skates in front of the net, but I don't think anyone has ever been hurt by someone trying to kick the puck.

It's a safety issue . If kicking were allowed, every goal mouth scramble there would be skate blades flying all over the place.

Because the puck was way in behind him, doofus.
Not to defend Healy, but he was making a point on a holding the stick call that was missed. He just made the point in his typical weird sarcastic way.

Because it's hockey, not Kickpuck?

You don't want guys to start kicking their skates around. This one is pretty obvious guys.

Good point, I tend to forget they're wearing knives on their feet. Either say it can't go off your foot at all, or fully allow it.

If they are going to call that on Crosby, this is going to be a long game.

Speaking of Iginla, despite the points he has put up, I keep wanting to see Iggy beast playoff mode. I'm not certain if I've even seen him upset yet in this playoffs. Benoit just grabbed Iggy's stick with both hands and prevented a goal. He nearly took the stick out of Iginla's hands. Not so much as a snarl.

He's 5th in the league for points. Not a whole lot more you can ask from a veteran player like Iggy.

I actually wonder if he is being coached not to go into beast mode.. Almost as if Balsma is telling Iggy to play it easy with limited ice time, take the shots when you get them, but stay on the outside and don't mix it up.

I keep waiting for him to do something to really excite the Pittsburgh fans, but I've seen nothing yet.

Iginla definitely looks like he's taking it easy, or holding something back.

I think physically he's probably still capable of turning it up a notch or four.

Yes, this is what came to my mind as well. Also it is Crosby's team and such, might not feel as comfortable doing that kind of thing.

It's just odd to see him be a background player. I thought come playoff time he would thrust himself into the spotlight with massive Iggy playoff intensity. I didn't even think it was possible for him to do anything less.

A lot of people in hockey want the rule to be changed, or completely removed. So it's well beyond just us "guys" who think that way.

I'm hoping for 2 things:

1. Pens win and move on to the third round.
2. Their next series is broadcast on TSN.

Certainly seems to be some personal beef. Right after Iggy shoots down the right wing with a pretty good burst of speed, Healy says he can't keep up with the line because Malkin stupidly brings the puck back in offside.

Doesn't CBC typically take over after game 3 of one Conference Finals, while they carry the entirety of the other series? So eventually both series will end up on CBC unfortunately.

I can't wait until we see the day TSN gets to cover the Finals. Everything is better on TSN, and the real difference is Cuthbert>>>>>>>>>>>>Any commentator on CBC. Although Gord Miller might end up calling those games I guess, but even Miller is a major step up over what CBC offers.
