His comment "Meanwhile NDP" is his perceived attacked on the NDP for promising Filipino language option in schools.
We are simply asking him to clarify why that's an issue to him.
He has avoided the question completely and given his...questionable views...it's not that hard to connect the dots. Again, he could come out any day and clarify.

Why do you care so much if he is or not? Why does it matter so much to you?

This all comes down to Yoho, his posting style and the 'personality' he himself has cultivated on these forums. When he posts about the NDP or Liberals its always negative. That's not bad necessarily. To each their own. But then, he posted about the NDP supporting Filipino language education in Alberta schools. Based on the long track record of his own posting style, its obvious he doesn't support it. If you go back and read responses to the post, people were confused about why he would possibly be against this. He didn't respond as per usual and as such, people are left to guess his intentions based on his long track record of other posts.
So, I guess the question is why would someone not support Filipino language education in Alberta schools? Especially considering there are dozens of other languages already in the curriculum? What rational reason would someone have for not supporting it? He never responded, so it leaves people guessing at his intentions of the post. And unfortunately its hard to guess why any rational person would be opposed to such a thing. As such, the only logical answer is that Yoho's reasoning for not liking Filipino education is irrational and 'seemingly racist'.

Can't that exact same question be flipped on you? Why do you care so much about how people post on this forum? Why does it matter so much to you?

So in response to a thread direction that you didn't like, your solution was to throw gasoline on the fire and make sure it was fully and completely engulfed in Yoho talk?

Because when I click on a topic I expect the discussion to revolve around that. Not witch-hunts on posters for what they may or may not be.

Then put the posters you don't like on ignore.
So Yoho trolling the forum is okay, its just that the rest of us just need to learn to ignore him. But other posters trolling Yoho is terrible.
That's some sound logic.

Closet-racists have become emboldened ever since Trump's presidency and I think we all need to do more to call it out.

In fact, if you read the comments to that tweet, it’s nearly all xenophobic and racist crap. You can see what kind of people were drawn to that story.

It's very possible he is a racist. My wife is a teacher and curriculum changes are always hot topics because people absolutely hate change. He's clearly anti-NDP and pro-UCP and just throws stuff up against the wall that he feels may support his cause. Like I said in my initial post he's definitely crossing into trolling territory but I don't think we need to start dragging the discussion down to personal attacks. I've had a poster in PM condemn me for my "character judgments" and I'm like WTF? You don't even know me outside of some posts on a forum but you think you can call out my character? Some of you take this stuff way too seriously. Nobody really knows anyone here and I think we need to be a little careful about throwing words around that may or may not be true.

If you really think he's a racist then put him on ignore rather than chase him around calling him a racist. The entire Alberta politics discussion has been sidetracked.

I understand your anger, and agree with your position, but not your methodology.
Calling someone stupid or names has ever made them less racist. It sounds cheesy but the only way to stamp out racism is with patience and love. Call it what it is, sure, but dog piling is not solutions based thinking.

Again remind me what he said was racist? You can't win the argument here. You are calling him racist on assumption alone and that's not moving society forward in any positive way.

I'm a teacher in a rural Alberta town. Curriculum changes are a hot topic issue, but this isn't a change. A change would be teaching Filipino language instead of English. This is about inclusion. I highly doubt that, if asked, Danielle Smith would be upset with Filipino language inclusion in the curriculum. It's hard to fathom that anyone with a rational brain (on either side of the political spectrum) would have an issue with it. Equating it to 'curriculum changes' is disingenuous.
I'm sorry, but I take people posting 'seemingly racist' stuff seriously. I wholeheartedly disagree with ignoring stuff like this in our society and think that instead it needs to have the light shined on it to show how ridiculous, small-minded and stupid it is.
Just my opinion. I respect but disagree with yours.

I respect your opinion as unlike others you have provided substance to support your stance. I think the right thing to do here is to take it up with the mods and let them decide. As a person that really doesn't care what anyone does in their personal life or what they believe in, I feel that this kind of stuff I don't want to see when I click on a thread topic. That is just my opinion though.

At this point I just wish Yoho was banned so that his garbage would stop cluttering up every political thread on this site. Ignoring him isn't enough, as the last few pages of discussion prove

the problem isn't that Ignore doesn't work, it's that it's not being used universally. there's still too many people that want to respond to each and every tweet and news link. that encourages him to post even more of the same, and makes the Ignore feature totally useless for everyone else.
I wish the way Ignore worked is that instead of seeing the blocked posts, and then the responses to those, anywhere with that person's username (posts and replies) would just be not visible at all.
