Sure Hulk, you turned down all those offers... yet not Santa With Muscles, Urban Commando, and Mr. Nanny. I don't know how anyone gives Hulk airtime these days. He's a bigger liar than his buddy Trump!

The Rock killed it with that promo tonight. Even my girlfriend, who is not a wrestling or Rock fan, was like "Ohhh. I get why people think he's awesome."

The song was alright but the actual promo was amazing.
You can tell he's enjoying it and having fun with it too.

She's just not worth that much. What would everyone else on the roster think with her making that kind of money?
Also I hate all the trash TMV gossip, but I keep seeing rumors of Lana and Damien Priest on my FB feed. Is there any truth to the rumors?

I heard 5 million bucks a year, which I have my doubts about.
Look she's a good worker, bordering on great. She's sub par on promo's and she's not a proven draw. Is she a top performer? Sure, is she the best woman worker in the world. No. But she's by and far the best woman in AEW and its not close.

Ok, hasn't he claimed to have been up for most of the famous roles.
I mean imagine it now.
Hulk Hogan as Han Solo - Let me tell you something brother, when me and Chewbacca get our hands on Vader brother, the 36 inch pythons will squeeze him out of his armor through he vent brother. Then we're going to go and put a hurtin on Palpatine. What cha gonna do when the ultimate rebel goes wild on you?"
Hulk Hogan as Superman - "Let me tell you something brother, the Super was sitting in his fortress of solitude jamming on his bass, when he heard Lois Lane screaming from half way around the world. Well the Supster knew he had to wave the flag and fight for truth, Justice and the American way and for all those little Supermaniacs out there. So I slammed down my vitamins and guzzled down my Milk and had a can of Hulko roos even though Hulk Hogan is not my secret identity, and I flew around the world and wrapped the largest arms in the world around General Zod and squeezed until he kneeled before the Hulkster, errr Supster.
What are the bad guys of the world going to do when they meet up with the largest flying arms in the world brother?"
Hulk Hogan as Oscar Schindler - "Let me tell my Jewish brothers something . . . the war is over, because the industrial might of my company and the largest arms in the world got tired of what Hitler was doing, so Oscster jumped into Hitlers underground lair like I was a genetic jackhammer and I dropped the big leg on that man, because the Schnster stands for truth and justice and freeing the Jews . . . Brother"

Darby had to cancel his Everest expedition because he broke his foot with one of his unneccessary top rope to the outside dives last night.
Honestly stupid of him to even be working that show when he had Everest planned, didn't need to appear after the win with Sting.
Should have just come out to drop the belts.

I know Hogan even claimed to audition for Metallica in the 80s after Cliff Burton died.
Quote:
"I used to be a session musician before I was a wrestler. I played bass guitar. I was big pals with Lars Ulrich and he asked me if I wanted to play bass with Metallica in their early days but it didn't work out."
|
Quote:
When the interviewer explains that Hogan said he auditioned for the band, Hetfield responds "Huh? Definitely not. But anyway, it's a good fit, yeah? [Laughs] He makes us look very small."

Geezuz you are sour. Who cares about Darby Allin breaking his foot? Hell just go some other time. It was from a pretty normal, take spot. Just unlucky. Dude has a death wish and having fun doing it.

I actually really like Darby.
But sometimes these guys need to be protected from themselves and Darby takes too many risks week after week, and eventually you get hurt. I don't want to see a guy paralyze himself.
I want AEW to succeed, its best for the entire industry if they do, but TK needs to be better if that's going to happen.

I love Darby as well. Him and Take are my two favourites in AEW (other than MJF). His reckless ways are one thing that makes him unique. I wish they'd find ways to protect him, but it's hard to take that daredevil mentality out of him. A shame he won't be able to make the trek up Everest, hopefully he can give it another shot next year.

I will say - that coffin drop on the apron this week on Dynamite was hella fun (and brutal!). If that was Darby's decision to do so, that's his right. I'm of the opinion that if these guys wanna 'go' at the pace they do on regular weekly shows, that's their decision and they are 100% more than aware of the long-term consequences of doing so.

I'm guessing that all but guarantees he won't be at the show in Edmonton in May. I sure hope the show doesn't end up being a bunch of old WWE guys that we've seen a million times over.

I'm going to Dynamite this week, could be the last time I get to see Copeland and Christian in the ring together!

So I noticed in the quarterly numbers for Dynamite this week that they went down nearly 80k in viewership from the previous quarter before Bucks/Okada, and then back up steadily (over 60k) in viewership for the Ospreay promo. The Bucks continue to hurt ratings, and may drag down Okada with them.
They may generate controversy and Meltzer star ratings, just apparently not television ratings.

Rhodes with an even better fireback promo tonight. He was in top form. I hope they chant LDS at Rocky next time he comes out.

Sounds like it should be a decent crowd for Dynamite tonight. I'm really hoping AEW can catch some momentum and see consistent ticket sales in the 6k-8k range. The atmosphere of the shows that have sold under 4k have been super weak.

Edge vs Christian in Toronto feels like it would do numbers, Toronto is always a pretty good wrestling market.

There's certain markets that are always awesome locations for shows, if just for the crowd intensity and noise levels. Toronto, Montreal, Chicago and Philly come to mind. Wish I could say the same about Calgary, but I think this city has kinda lost that hardcore wrestling vibe a bit; hell at one time we were the final level in Saturday Night Slam Masters in the 1990s, which is a really cool feather in the cap to have.
Then there's cities that should never have a show again due to their crowds, such as Corpus Christi. What a vacuum of energy and fun that place seems to always be.
