Yeah they are better as heels and they never should have been the Bang Bang Scissor gang to start with, never made sense.
Their entrance and theme is perfect though. I kind of feel like Jay White should have dethroned MJF and not Samoa Joe.

Their intro with the 360-degree camera pan is awesome. One of the best stage intros in the industry today, IMO.

Great Dynamite last night, Willow has been one of those under-the-radar talents that can go and really get the crowd behind her.
Also, Ospreay is the future of the men's division (banger of a theme too!)

Honestly some of Tony's worst booking, and that's saying something.
The whole angle was trash. They joined forces to get revenge on Undisputed Kingdom, and then just forgot about that I guess. Hangman also forgot they attacked him, too.
Then they run this whole angle with The Acclaimed just to turn around and circle back to the same feud they did last year that had already grown stale.
Absolute garbage.

Has to be dissapointing for AEW
They hyped it up as a bit of a Dynamite that was PPV level, has Mercedes debut, and Okada's in ring debut, and the number barely moved against no real competition.
Kahn really has to rethink what he's doing.

The problem is that the fanbase doesn't trust Tony with the book anymore. They could hotshot a 23 year old clone of Hulk Hogan and pit him against a 23 year old clone of Andre the Giant dressed up as Bigfoot, and I doubt it would move the needle much.
The booking has been sub par for so long, and hot shot introductions of new talent have fallen flat for too long.
And story lines that fans get excited about just kind of vanish or fizzle out.
It can't be about 1 good show once in a while, they need to string together 6 months of really top notch, consistant shows.
Or they can go with my idea.
And do what WCW did in its last 6 months, and book such atrocious shows that they can be fun from a parody point of view that the fans tune in to watch a booking train wreck.
paging Vince Russo, you have an employment offer on line two brah.

Also in terms of Mercedes, I think she's great in the ring, awful on the mic. But the problem is that outside of a couple of woman in the woman's division there's not one that can keep up with her in the ring.
I mean, ideally, she should just come in and destroy everyone. Like beat Toni Storm with an open handed slap 6 minutes into the match. Punch a hole through Athena's chest and bite into her still beating heart, make Saraya bald. . Just build her up as a monster invader and an outsider who comes in and sneers down at AEW. I mean she set it up already when she did an interview that basically said that she would eventually come to back to WWE. I wish I'd kept that twitter post.
But have her honestly proclaim it, that this is the stepping stool. Have her win the title and sneer at it.
Then figure out who your hero is that will come in and kick her ass. But no factions, not tag teams no group ups on either side.

Their fanbase trusts him just fine. No one else does. Their viewership numbers are what they are now. They move up and down a little bit, but this number is the number they get no matter what happens.

- no promoting of Mone to debut outside of Tony teasing on Twitter
- not Okada's in-ring debut
- no large names in the main event
Booking was not strong last night, but they've had good shows the last four or so in a row.
Fans still confused by main event scene. He's being too random with the main event slot and not placing their biggest axes in that time slot.

Mone debuting last night was the worst kept secret ever, the poster announcing the event said BO$$TON
And in terms of it not being Okada's in-ring debut...anything that happens on Collision (and especially a 2 minute match) might as well be a house show at this point.
That rating last night is hurting Tony Khan today for sure. They had a major debut, a title match, and Okada in a big match and barely moved week over week.
He's not giving out all these huge contracts to keep the viewership at 800k. He's trying to grow it to above 1M viewers and it's not working.

Yeah, that was pretty dumb. Not that people weren't already convinced she was showing up in Boston but they could have atleast made people wonder if maybe she might not.

They can't rely on Sting anymore. I think his pending retirement brought casuals into watching. AEW clearly has a loyal fanbase that never waivers (as Crunch alluded to). So they're always going to draw those 700-800 thousand viewers. They need to find ways to attract those casual viewers to get over that million mark.
Their women's division clearly is the biggest problem, and seemingly puts off viewers. Generally their lowest quarter numbers are always the women's division matches. I don't see the solution there, perhaps Mone does that, but otherwise there are no other proven draws. I would of had Britt Baker interrupt the promo, as I don't think Willow is a draw. Building off rivalries from New Japan isn't going to work either, as casuals don't follow work outside of North America. I also would have debuted Mone as a heel, and not given her that "ah shucks" babyface tale. Maybe over time she can ignite the division, but night one didn't work.
Also where is Take? I hate that so many wrestlers come and go. If I was booking I'd have the true talents on most (if not every Dynamite). Yet many seem to come and go with no rhyme or reason. Maybe they should consider a brand split, as it can get confusing at times. Is Ospreay even with Don Callis anymore? Again the talent and wrestling ability is there right now, but the organization and booking is atrocious.

I defend AEW on here quite a bit, but the booking for Dynamite was abysmal. Why have both the Mercedes debut AND the HW title match in the first hour? I like Willow and Riho, but that's barely a Rampage main event.
EDIT: Also MM's entrance music is hot garbage.

Yeah - CM Punk coming out in Chicago to start the show made sense...his fans would hijack the show.
They should have left Mone for the final segment and had her just come out at the end to help save Willow.

There is too much talent on that roster to waste it with bad booking. Tony needs to just admit it's too much for just him and get some help.

Do you think there's any truth to Mone bring paid 10 million per year? That can't be true. I know the WWE wanted her back, but I can't see her being paid more than their main eventers. Banks/Mone is talented, and will draw more mainstream attention than anyone in that division... but is she a bigger star than Ospreay, Okada, Danielson, or Copeland?
She's just not worth that much. What would everyone else on the roster think with her making that kind of money?
Also I hate all the trash TMV gossip, but I keep seeing rumors of Lana and Damien Priest on my FB feed. Is there any truth to the rumors?

The rumor I read was a 5 year deal at 5 million per. And that negotiations with WWE broke down because she wanted Charlotte Flair money and WWE passed on that.
From what I've found Flair's deal is supposed to be 4 or 5 million.

In other news, Hulk Hogan claims he turned down offers to become the next John Wayne!
https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/...210000879.html
Sure Hulk, you turned down all those offers... yet not Santa With Muscles, Urban Commando, and Mr. Nanny. I don't know how anyone gives Hulk airtime these days. He's a bigger liar than his buddy Trump!
