Buffalo still has games to play (they need lefty relievers too) and Girodo pitched 3 innings yesterday (so he probably won't be available to throw for a few more days).

I'm by no means a Thole fan either but I think having him to catch the rest of Dickey's starts is smart. Catching Dickey really banged up Martin last year and the last thing the Jays need is Martin getting hurt for the stretch run and/or playoffs.

Dickey isn't going anywhere year so might as well have Thole catch him IMO. I'm pretty confident that with the acquisitions of Lariano and Navarro the Jays have no interest in having Thole on the Post season roster and probably not even Dickey for that matter. Certainly I dont' think Dickey is going to start a Post season game.

Something catastrophic would have to happen for Dickey/Thole to make the playoff roster, and if something like that were to happen we likely wouldn't make playoffs anyhow.

Or if Dickey is lights out over his final 4-5 starts, which is also unlikely.

Estrada looks great so far, and Navarro just gunned out a runner. Great to have a decent back-up catcher.
