Not I but you have to get it out of something. We all have our tricks, but just the tape rubbed me the wrong way. They probably spent more on employee time to put tape on (or for suppliers to do so) than they gained by trying to make people buy beer at Rogers arena prices.

The easier way to sell more beer on course? Make it a reasonable price.

Or even just make it accessible. I'll gladly pay for it, but I'll actually see a beer cart maybe once every four rounds, and I'm not driving back to the clubhouse every second hole

The year before at Eagle one of the guys tried to buy Heineken at the clubhouse for the round. They’d only sell him bottles. All of which they insisted on opening.

Had a lesson on the trackman tonight. I'm always amazed what atrained pro can pick up compared to Instagram/YouTube. Instant feedback with video playback and the trackman readings helps a lot too.

Driver he got me moving back behind the ball more that gave me more room and I hit a PB on swing speed and ball speed.

Wedges again he got me more room with a few body movements that shallower the club. More spin and better path through the ball.

Now to grind it out at home with the camera/mirror to take it to the course.

TLDR: Don't neglect getting a lesson.

Whats your guys tips/tricks for short game shots in the range of say 20-90 yards?

I'm pretty good with a full swing, but when I have to do a half, or quarter swing I go way down to about a 25% success rate. Its the one thing keeping me from getting my handicap down any further.

I will chunk it, scull it, hit it decent but be short...just seems to allude me for some reason.

For me it’s about address. If you address the ball the same in those situations you’re much more likely to miss hit. I usually turn my feet towards the target as it helps with making good contact. Hard to explain on here though.

Make sure you aren't decelerating. Are you using a high loft wedge for those shots? I find it a lot easier to use more forgiving club like a set pitching wedge for those pitch/chip shorts when I lose confidence in the real wedges.

In general the more time the ball is on the ground the more accurate you can be, unless you are a really good golfer. So as was said chipping and running is better than flopping if you have a choice.

Thats something I've started in the last few weeks, using my AW or PW instead of a 56 or 60 degree. Its a bit better, but still a struggle.

And of course on the range, I hit these shots fairly well. But out on the course is a different story.

That's also typically what I do as well, using a 7 iron. But sometimes I need to get over a bunker, or water, or have very little green to work with etc. Just seems all the guys in my mens league matches are amazing from 80 yards in.

So I typically will try and leave myself 100-120 yards as opposed to any closer lol.

I think I am doing exactly that, thinking oh I better slow down this doesn't need to go very far. Its all in my head 100% ha.

Well, finally broke 100 today for the first time this year... in the wrong direction. 101 at Valley Ridge. Played solid for most of the front 9 then fell apart on the back after a couple of "almost really good" approaches resulted in doubles. From there it just compounded.

Golf is hard etc etc, but I'm a bit frustrated that my last few rounds have been some of my worst. I need to play the same course a few times in a row.

Inside 60 yards is my favorite spot! Love hitting the flops. I would watch the Phil Mickelson chip video on ball placement for low/high chips. To echo the other poster it's all about limiting the back swing and keeping the rest of it full.

For myself it's huge to remind myself how the club works and make sure I'm hitting "down" on the ball, let the club do the work and don't try to scoop it to get it up.

I mostly got it because my Garmin R10 doesn't do putting so my sim makes me hit the ball if I'm on the fringe, even if I'm under 20 yards away.

Short Game Chef on youtube or social media is really good.
It's all practice though at the end of the day; I'm finally starting to get these shots down with confidence.

I used to try and leave myself 100 yards in but now I'm more comfortable getting as close as possible.
I also use an 8iron bump and run around the greens a lot if things are pretty flat. Take the duffs and thins right out of the question and hit it like a putter.

I've never played that one well in my life. I've successfully avoided it for years now.

I'm being a bit dramatic. The front 9 is pretty solid.

The back 9, with the exception of 18 needs to be completely rethought. The pointless mounding everywhere is Pete Dye-esque garbage. Hard and penal for the sake of being hard.

For the price they charge, there are many better options.

I like valley and have it in the regular rotation.

That would potentially be different if I was paying though.
