Dallas absolutely dominated the Oilers in game six...to the point the Oilers barely touched the puck for two periods. To say they had luck on their side would be an understatement.

Lavoie was a other of their younger guys. They keep getting older with absolutely nothing for prospects.

I think they broke the deserved-to-win-o-meter on that one.

Vegas wasn't great but they've always bullied the oilers at playoff hockey. One different result in game 82 and chances were good they didn't get out of round one. Instead the central bracket gets stacked and the best teams take each other out to clear a path for them.
VAN and DAL quitting after having series leads was puzzling to say the least, injuries aside.
Never seen a team less challenged to go the distance. Florida was the first to show a pulse and push back and they won pretty convincingly. Game 7 wasn't a contest.

In what world is winning 2-1 in game 7 "winning pretty convincingly"?

It was, the Oilers didn't look like they had any answers IMO. If memory serves correct I was nervous as hell going into that game, and that nervousness subsided pretty quickly and stayed away for pretty much the entire game, although it was only 2-1 it sure didn't feel all that close to me.

So highly sought after buyout Skinner is exactly what people other than Oilers fanboys said he was. Shocking. And how's elite prospect Savoie? I don't see him in the lineup, surely they wouldn't send such an elite prospect down.

Same with the Flames in game 7 v. Tampa. Would we say that the Lightning won that series "pretty convincingly"?

That game 7 had a timid start from both sides. Once Tampa scored it seemed like they kind of cruised until they made it 2-0 and the beaten up Flames put everything they had on net.
Always remember Leopold getting robbed, and knew that was it.
Florida looked more in command right off the start in game 7.

Are the Oilers ditching their sticks for shovels this year to dig the #### in?

No Foegele and no Kane for most of the season. How soft is this team?
If Skinner is a bust, their forwards actually got worse. Maybe even worse offensively. Definitely lost on the PK and on the forecheck.
Their d is so bad. Nurse and Kulak are the shutdown tandem? Ekholm and Bouchard will need to play 30 mins a night. Ekholm gets hurt and they miss the playoffs. They might even if he doesn't.

Nurse and Norris favourite Ty Emberson is the shutdown pair.

Evidently you didn't watch the game. Not all 2-1 games are made the same.
That was a 2012/2014 Kings performance. Last two minutes the cats mucked it up and kept them away from anywhere dangerous.
FLA let down their guard after game 3 but I blame the series not ending much sooner on Leon trying to injure Barkov (who was running his show).

Are we talking about them convincingly winning the series or just game 7? I disagree they convincingly won either but would be good to know what the original comment was intended to mean.

The funny thing is when the Norris votes come out each will have votes from the media up there.

I know what you mean but they signed brown on d to a 3 year deal. He’s going to hold people accountable and show people how tough they are.
Even on the third pairing, brown will get ahead of any physical shenanigans with his on ice and on bench presence.
No need to worry about toughness.
…
Wait what? Waived? 4d chess. 3 year contract so that he can be called up or sent down for the next 3 years? Brilliant. And one less contract to worry about. It’s easier to manage 3 vacant contracts than 4 amirite?
