People here in China love the series so there's lots of buzz. I think I saw the first or second one in high school and hated it even then, but gave this a shot because I thought Momoa as the villain looked like it had some 80s action vibes.

Yeah that's me too pretty much. Really cool to see how they animated everything, fun to hear chunks of the music, a really well done really long cut scene. Worth watching for the coolness.
Also there's reports that "Eiji Aonuma "Interested" In Zelda Movie".. presumably they'd want something to match the narrative quality of the games. And hopefully in BotW/TotK style!

I had fun at Fast X, thought it was a big improvement over F9 - I feel like the franchise needs to be just absurd enough to still be fun but not insultingly stupid like F9 got (Tarzan car, car in space, etc.). Mamoa's villain is actually pretty great, an immature crazy sociopath with lots of resources. Ends on a pretty big cliffhanger with a great mid-credits stinger too.
If you've liked the franchise since it turned into a crazy action movie thing around F5, you'll continue to like this one. You know I'll be at the next one too!
