Why would we ever want Katz to sell the team?
He's the best owner Flames fans have ever had.

Exactly...
Katz is an Oilers fan, a typical Oilers fan. He loves the 80s and everything that team did. Lowe is still around and MacTavish left for a bit then returned, as GM. Even after being fired again he was kept. Katz has no desire to clean out the old boy club, he's in love with them.
Not to mention that sweetheart land, development and arena he got from the city.
Darryl Katz is the best thing to happen as a Flames fan.

At first, it seems like they are having a moment of clarity admitting that the team lacks talent and effort, but then they quickly start talking about unfair reffing and unfortunate and fluky goals being scored against them.

I wonder if McDavid’s latest “illness” is a result of related fatigue. Since they’re pushing him so much, he’s got to struggle at least somewhat with recovery. Oilers already have a NOGOOD history when it comes to allowing players time to heal/recover...
On a serious note, this article is highly speculative (Spector-lative?) especially Gramantik’s insights. It would have to be an unbelievably callous organization that would actively shave years off of a player’s career in the name of salvaging a middling season. Certainly, even the Oilers wouldn’t be THAT desperate, would they...?

McDavid is able to use sleep as a generational weapon.
Yeah, I don’t know what it means either...

They have been rushing and ruining prospects for a long time, so yeah, they would.

This just in, a player plays more minutes then they should gets tired sooner, can't recover as quick, and over long term probably not great.
Nothing against the track coach, just more Spector trying to feel important by talking with someone outside of the hockey world.
Curiously timed article, as one should be suspicious of the motives of any Edmonton Oilers press member that is in Lowe's hip pocket.
McDavids been playing more minutes than he should for years now because he's been the best players on his team. Only after two successive Saturday night pressers where the interim, brutally honest coach that never really expected to stay on, and thus has no need to suck up, blasts the roster. So Spector deciding to questions the Oilers (ie Hitchcock) for the recent uptick in McDavid and Nurse's playing time, isn't a coincidence imo, it's a. shot across the Hitchcock bow.
Also LOL at that article with regards to the mention of the Oilers training staff. Go research my findings on the Russian roulette the Oilers played with Smid's neck, career and life.
And any reference to the 2001 world track championships reminds me of the Brit writer who blasted the city of Edmonton.

If it turns out that McDavid really was just hungover and he continues to not be disciplined by the team, that will send a great message.

No, just people speculating because it was his birthday and he was spotted out and about.
