Keep in mind approach is different depending on the lead.
If he's coming in with a 4 run lead, he should be throwing strikes and letting the D behind him get outs.
If he's coming in a tighter game, or when runners are on base - he needs to miss bats.
The worst thing a guy like him can do is come in - walk a bunch of guys when you have a lead. I don't mind if a hit is given up because he's throwing strikes.
