What a job by Gausman and especially the bullpen! The bullpen gave up exactly ZERO hits and struck out 7 over 3 and 2/3 innings.

I guess Tim Mayza gets the win after facing only one batter (technically two with the intentional walk). What a silly stat.

BTW, obviously finishing 4th is the best scenario

But if they don't finish 4th, I hope they finish 6th - I would rather go to CLE than TB or SEA

However, the best case scenario is to lock up 4th before the last game so they can save Manoah

Vladdy yelling “this is my house” stands out as one of the images of the season, for me.

You walk Vladdy, you might as well walk Kirk and see what happens with Chapman.

And put Biggio at third?
I realize that’s what the Jays did but I wouldn’t do that to get past Vladdy and Kirk to get to Chapman

I personally don’t think the Yankees played it wrong. Kirk has been a better hitter than Vlad this year, according to a few different metrics

Their better chance was to pitch to Vladdy.

Especially with Kirk’s ability to walk. Good chance you put Vladdy on and Kirk ends up with the BB anways and loads the bases.

Yeah, but you get a guy who has a .327 OBP and the most strike outs on the team if you move along to Chapman.

With two outs and how Guerrero has been hitting, pitching to him was okay but should have been the unintentionally intentional walk. Thow him stuff out of the zone and see of he'll chase it. He doesn't hit those pitches the way his old man did...nobody does.

Scheduled loss with Berrios on the mound. Hopefully he just focuses on not giving Judge his homer.

That's a White start. With Berrios it's a mixed bag but atleast it's at home where he plays better.

Also, what are we thinking? Does Auston Matthews throw from the top of the mound or from the base? Does he put some actual juice behind it or does he lob it?

Will it be closer to the strike zone than a Kikuchi pitch?

He actually has a very respectable W/L record, certainly has been luckier in that aspect compared to Gausman

Looks like he threw from in front of the mound and it wasn't a lob
