Edwards is probably content with his 7 playoff home games. Nothing is going to change. This team and too many of its fans have been content for too long with just being better than the Oilers. And now look at us.

If there's a silver lining, it's hopefully that this guy is out of a job.

As much as the Flames #### the bed in the 2nd round, they did make it to the 2nd round. That's progression from the past several seasons.
But with Darryl contract for one more season, Tre's fate is on how next season goes. He'll survive if the team makes it to the third round at least. Otherwise I don't see how you can give him anymore rope since it's been what, 10 years now with not much to look at for accomplishments?

Some of you will be crying all summer...Brad isn't getting fired for losing in the 2nd round...neither is any other GM who's team was in the top 8

Treliving bought himself another year
It’s going to be a big year fixing this mess
Overpay to keep the stars that are not competitive to the Oilers or rebuild? Tough job

It's really not progression. This team has won a round a couple times. Two rounds would have been progression. This is just another occasionally blip.

Brad's alright, he put together a pretty good team. First in the Div and if we had a healthy Monahan and Tanev throughout the playoffs the outcome could be very different.

The front office has done a very good job, the truth is the team has the same issue that the majority of the teams have, they don't have elite talent at C and D because they never got bad enough to draft high. That's hard to overcome.

I think you are correct, but if you are a fan you should not be happy about Tre staying on.

nobodies top players are competitive to the Oilers...why don't they win the cup every year?
If the Flames got slightly better goaltending and better play from the D (healthy Tanev?) they likely would have won the series. Also, Oilers will likely be worse next season.

If you pay Tkachuk and Gaudreau, how do you rebuild the rest of the team, especially the defense?

We might not need to worry about paying Gaudreau

I loved both trades at the time but man did both Jankrok and Toffoli SUCK. They were supposed to push us over the top but especially TT was a liability in 99% of cases.
So heartbreaking.

They were not even on the same planet. Tkachuk and Gaudreau for the most part were terrible in this series

Why stop there? Why not just provoke a nuclear holocaust? That way we can REALLY start fresh.
So tired of your "hot takes".
