Reschny has already resumed skating in Ralph Engelstad Arena.
"He's been on the ice some," Jackson said. "He's still questionable. We'll see. I think there's a decent chance he plays. We'll have to continue to see how he recovers throughout the week."

Tl;dw - elite hockey sense and work ethic, average size and skating. The game flows through him constantly, which probably makes him a better fit at center at the NHL level. Might lose puck battles here and there, but impacts the game positively far more often than not. A winger with elite puckhandling and shooting ability would really benefit from Reschny's ability to make space and advance the puck from the neutral zone into the offensive zone (hello Gridin and Wyttenbach!)

Depending how good his off season training goes I think the flames assign him to the ahl after a contract. However I personally feel another year of dev in the NCAA could really benefit him in his need to be a far better skater. If he unlocks a grade or two in the skating dept , paging dr fujita, we have a def top six center. He at least looks like a top nine who with complimentary line mates could play up.
His nose for the net in big games is a welcome attribute we all saw during the wjc. He looked way more engaged than misa imo.
Great value at his range of the first round. He may not have the frame but he looks to be the most complete 200foot center drafted. He looked better than Desnoyers, misa, Martin, but they all have size on him. He has heart and a more cerebral dependable game than them. Martin has a lot of heart but I don’t think he gets away with his play style in the nhl. That injury he suffered in the Czech game portends his style and size may be something he can’t overcome. He’s a bull but not the biggest and may be exposed.
Desnoyers has size and a smooth game with some grit but I didn’t see the 200 ft game nor The face off ability. I didn’t see the clutch nor the nose for the net.
With misa he’s a bit bigger than reschny but I saw him trying to do too much and didn’t really show off his full
Potential. He looks like a matty Berneirs. He looks like he may be a really fun, great skating high iq offensive player. He was drafted 2nd after all.
The only guys I would have liked above reschny were OBrien and McQueen. Only because of their size and offensive potential. So far reschny looks like the more reliable and complete center prospect from that group but he just needs more strength and skating improvements. Those are more likely to be achieved and why I consider him good value.
Happy his last injury scare was just that after our cursed year for injuries.
